This pen comes with a usb charging doc. Will that substitute for the charging doc or do i have to purchase the doc as well?

The USB charging doc is enough, you don't need to purchase another one.

Is the paper reuseable?

The Livescribe notebooks are not reuseable once you write on them.

Can the pen run out of ink?

Hi there, thank you for your question! This item comes with 2 spare ink cartridges for refilling the ink. So yes it will eventually run out, but you can refill the ink, so the pen will continue to be of use. Take care!

if you record something would it write it down?

The pen will not transcribe what it hears into writing. If you are speaking while writing, the pen will record what you are saying. This allows you to explain what you are writing while you are writing.
