PropperTactical Boonie Hat

I also have a Propper desert-beige hat made to military specs and this OD green hat is exactly the same size. This OD green hat does not have the webbing on the outside for use in attaching sniper-camo materials but that is OK for me. Even though these hats are manufactured outside of the USA they nevertheless still have good quality control and spot-on sizing. I like the inside map holder on this OD hat as well. I measured the brim of the hat to be exactly 2.5 inches (the same size as my desert tan hat) which I purchased many years ago. The gussets on these hats (used for air vents) are also of good quality. I prefer the blended material because it is much more durable than 100% cotton so it becomes a “hybrid-material” when it is blended with polyester. It is the best hot weather hat and protects the ears from sunburn but the brim is wide enough that my glasses are also kept dry while hiking in the rain so I feel the brim size is just perfect. I have no complaints whatsoever with this hat. I also own five BDU coats made by Propper and they are all spot-on in sizing regardless of country of manufacture. My first Propper coats lasted over seven years (with the 100% cotton) so I expect much longer durability with these polyblends. These hats are also of the same blended material. I continue to wear Propper-made coats and hats for exact sizing and durability. Best hats and BDU coats I ever owned!

These are great hats for a little extra warmth in cool weather, or for keeping the sun off in hot weather, when hiking for example. The hats look good without the extra wide brim of other hats. The brims on these hats are barely 2 inches wide. I also like that these hats don't have the loops going around the hat (for branches or camouflage) that other boonie hats have. While such loops might be handy for soldiers on a mission, they are worthless for normal hiking or outdoor wear, only adding weight and looking silly. Please note that these hats run a little larger than most other boonie hat brands. I had to order a quarter size smaller. As they are 65% polyester and 35% cotton, I expect there to be little shrinkage over time. I use these hats for travel or outdoor wear, especially in summer to keep the sun off my head. They are very lightweight and inexpensive.

Order your military issue hat size and you'll be happy. I work the southern border, the boonie hat we are issued is crap. It's a 1 size fit all beach tourist hat. This hat uses accurate sizing so if you order your military boonie size, it will fit great. The material feels thicker than the CBP hat the brim stays up. Couldn't be happier. I have a boonie that fits now!!! And get the job done. With CBP BDUs

If you want a Boonie hat that will arouse less suspicion than a camo one this one is good. The quality is similar to the military ones but without the vegetation band. Also no camo is more gray man. These are great for any time you might be spending time in the sun or rain. It’s not waterproof but it’ll keep the rain out of your eyes. Keep one in the car, camera bag...

Good quality hat. The only thing that I was concerned about was the sizing, but this fits true to size.I do have one minor problem, this hat is a NyCo blend, not 100% cotton as described. I wanted cotton as it is cooler in hot weather (at least in my experience).We’ll see how it does, but overall I am happy with the purchase.

This is my second Propper Boonie Hat that I have purchased. I have about worn out the first one. They are comfortable and keep the sun off of me. They have the safety draw string that will keep you from having to turn the boat around if your hat flies off (my main reason for this hat).

Keeps the sun off my face and ears and out of my eyes. I've worn these for years. I work by the water and if the wind gets one and I lose it, no big loss they're not expensive. Reasonably well made for the price, and can last several years until the sun rots them.

The stitching was poor and defective!! Never again with Propper!!Nov. 7th. 2020I ordered the green camo and this time the hat is great is not a floppy but sturdy feel great and size is accurated this is a must!!!!

I'm a 21 yearold girl with a really big head (23cm i think) for my 5'3 build so this hat was a dream to wear! Most "one size" hats never fit me so when i saw its measurements i felt so happy. It has a pocket inside the hat too so it was a nice surprise hahaha. When i wear this hat i feel like im going to go see some animals with steve irwin hahahaa, matanglawin!

Está RE bonito! me ajustó bastante bien y eso me da gusto porqué estoy muy cabezón.El color está en perfecto Caqui que también es algo que hay que agradecer, hay quien confunde el caqui con algo mas parecido al verde olivo verdad MAXPEDITION! JAJAJAEl sombrero vale mucho la pena, en una relación costo beneficio salió muy barato, este boonie esta muy bien hecho!

Price is right. Quality is OK. Decent chin-strap. Would like brim to be a bit bigger! Either way, you can't go wrong for 10 bucks! Propper does make a larger wide brimmed sun hat, but doesn't appear to be available on amazon (yet?)

I'm really happy with the fit and quality of this hat. It's well-made and cost-effective. Because of it's style, I wouldn't wear it out in the city or to the beach. But, if you're looking for protection from the sun while working in the yard of out in the bush, then this hat is perfect.

There is some light scuffing on the font of the hat, some of the threads lack around, and the little drain screens on each side aren't even symmetrical. Noobie on the production line? Who knows. But for 12$, this is a "perfectly" functional boonie hat.
