Rothco BDU Rip Stop Pants

I would buy these pants (rip stop 100% cotton) from the local Army Navy store. I would buy them in all colors and loved them. As a young skate punk they were part of the culture. I would wear them out until they became shorts (aka cut offs). Well recently I bought a pair in 2020 and I have to say IF these were the BDU's from back in the day we wouldn't have worn them. Why? well they still are the typical you need to "clean" them up as in cut and pull those threads but that didn't bother me. What bothered me is I could hold them up to the sun and almost see through the THIN cotton material. I highly doubt these will make it to cut offs...that's sad. These would last one street session back in the day if that. Maybe it's just me? Maybe things really were made better back then. Oh well. These will serve me fine with the occasional walks or watching TV on the couch. I hope. Honest old school review.

I received these yesterday and field tested them today on a 13-mile ruck. They performed as expected. These are straight-up BDUs. They are light enough to wear in the heat. Don’t expect miracles with quick-drying. They are 100% cotton. I purchased them for backpacking, rucking and as general knock-around pants on weekends. Recommend washing them in cold water and letting them air dry, unless you want them to shrink. My size is 34x32. I ordered a medium and they fit perfectly in the waist and they are maybe 1 inch too long, but you can tie them at the bottom. These are overall good pants for my purposes and I will most likely be ordering another pair.

4 out of 5 only because the size of these pants says fits 47 - 51. Clearly I would say they run small! They are approx. size 48. I wear size 48 "elastic sided" pants or "relaxed fit" if you will. But a size 50 in regular pants usually. So these are a little snug on me around the waist. I am still losing weight, so will keep these. Other than this size issue they are excellent! So plan for size adjustment. These pants are heavy made rip stop poly cotton, so will not need to worry about shrinkage. Also, a nice feature is a reinforced seat! The legs have ties so you can tie them around your ankles so that you won't have to tuck them into your boots. Also a nice feature was the adjustment straps on the waist sides. These allow you to adjust the waist size of the pants to smaller waist very securely and quickly release them. The fly is all button but is heavily reinforced.

Not as advertised. These were not short length as stated. I was forced to pay $10 to return these because the seller refused to cover the shipping even though the product was not as advertised. Buy elsewhere.

I mosty like the pants. I purchased them in black, and I would agree with others who said that they lose their color after the first wash. However, I was looking for a more worn product so this is fine for me. Also, they do not have the fly cover like regular BDUs or ACUs. They seem to me to be the same material, however, and that is what I was looking for. Overall, I am neither thrilled with or upset by this purchase. I will enjoy the pants, and may even purchase another pair in a different color at some point.

I love the pants! Super comfortable, super light, and super durable! I use them for metal detecting which can take all day, so I want something that's cool and comfortable. These are just right!

Great pants

i said the pants were somewhat large but they are still really nice pants. they are a bit larger than i wanted i got the x large which they list as between 36 - 38. turns out its more like 38. but nothing a belt cant fix. i'll still pick up a few more pairs in other colors just a size smaller.

ヤセ型で、ピッタリサイズの合うパンツが少ないので、軍モノのxsは助かります。ウエストも股下もジャストサイズ。質感も想像通りだったので、文句無いです。縫製とかも問題無いと思います。縫製に関しては、昔の米国製より良いと思います。
