Bodum Bean Cold Brew Coffee Maker, Press, Plastic, 1.5 Liter, 51 Ounce, Black

I wanted a cold-brew coffee maker and I generally really like Bodum's products from a function and style perspective. This jug is huge - it's really very big, It means I can get at least 3-4 large latte's out of it before having to do another batch.Anyway - I was a little disappointed to see the jug is made out of plastic, rather than glass - as I'd expect with a normal French press carafe, but It does seem sturdy enough and the nice classic rubberised feeling of the handle is very Bodum. I found that with a reasonable amount of grounds in the jug it can be extremely hard to press down ready to pour, but since found out this was due to the thread being loose on the plunger and it not pushing down evenly. This was with a brew of ratios like 1:8 or 1:10 (I like Illy coffee and it'd be so expensive with 1:8!) so there is a considerable amount of coffee grounds in the jug, I found stirring them constantly is best first before plunging it so they are spread out in the liquid.Some have complained about it being hard to clean, but I've not had any issues - quick rinse under the tap has been fine. It's a little messy changing the lids and I have found a very small amount of coffee grounds does escape into the liquid once it's been pressed - but nothing that would be noticeable or detract from the drink at the end.Overall it's an OK product with a good style brand associated to it. A glass carafe and a large filter style trap would be better rather than having all the coffee grounds floating around and a very hard to press plunger when you want to serve it.. I'd perhaps have bought something else had I known.

I’ve done some research before purchasing this cold brewer and I have no regrets. I like the fact that you can make large batches out cold coffee. It’s very easy to use, there is a slight learning curve on how strong you’d like your cold coffee.Using the scoop that’s included with the cold brewer, I use 6 scoops of Starbucks caffe Verona (whole bean) and I ground the beans between medium to coarse grind and let it sit for 12hrs. Just a tip, if you have extra cold brew coffee, transfer it to another container (I reuse the 2L iced tea bottles) because the longer it sits in the coffee grinds it will get stronger.. it’s a little too strong for my taste. When taking off the lid, pull the Plunger until it reaches the top and then take off the lid.

Great coffee pot to make chilled coffee, just like the little one I used every morning for hot coffee.However, it is huge. It is too fat to go in the door and it is too tall to go on any of the shelves. The only way it would fit in my large fridge/freezer by Samsung is by removing a shelf!But I cannot do without that shelf.A problem.

A pesar de verse de muy buena calidad, solo al abrir el paquete nos dimos cuenta que la prensa es solo para bebidas heladas. Cuando uno piensa en una prensa francesa, evidentemente es porque va a consumir café caliente, y siendo esta una de las características más importantes, no es mencionado. Sin embargo, hemos hecho la prueba para cafe caliente y a funcionado bien. Por lo pronto hemos decidido seguir usandola asi, esperemos que sea durable. También agradecemos la respuesta del vendedor, si implica algún riesgo para la saludo el utilizar este articulo para bebidas calientes.

Very easy to clean, once you figure out how to put the lid for steeping/pouring it’s good. I nearly snapped it trying to pull it off so I could clean it but be gentle.Steep your grinds for overnight, it’s perfect. Normally you need coarse grind coffee but this works with your fine grinds!Love love love mine!
