Fun for young and old
My 9 year-old granddaughter and I each have a copy of this book. We do Zoom calls where we talk the problems through. We both enjoy the logic puzzles and Smullyan's whimsy. Puzzles get harder later in the book. We have gotten about halfway through. The characters advocate solving algebra problems without formal algebra.Sometimes this works nicely, sometimes it seems to me that using just a little algebra makes it much easier. I think we will try introducing a little bit of algebra as an alternative way of seeing these problems.

Great fun for a younger audience
I'm happy to have one last book by the master but a little wistful that it's not another masterpiece. At his best Smullyan mixes twisty logic puzzles with puzzles that illuminate the work of Godel, Cantor, etc. this is not at that level.I can't totally fault the writeup, which did say that some chapters target younger readers. But it also implied that there was something for everyone. Not so much. The puzzles that don't overtly target kids are reruns for me.That said, it's great that kids discover the magic of logic and logic puzzles and I can't imagine a better docent than Raymond Smullyan, with his unmatched whimsy and endearingly corny sense of humor. While it's critical to master algebra, it's just as valuable to be able to solve problems with creative reasoning, in a back of the envelope way. That's not often taught and it's wonderfully done here.I would strongly recommend this book as a treat for families to share.

Intriguing logic puzzles
Purchased as a gift for my 12 year old, who loves logic puzzles and riddles. He has enjoyed this book thoroughly, and frequently presents us with puzzles he learned in it. His logic teacher at school even invited him to make a presentation to the class based on the puzzles he'd been sharing, and his classmates enjoyed guessing and working through their ideas together. The puzzles in this book take a certain way of thinking 'outside the box', and do require time, and puzzling through possibilities to reach the correct conclusion. With practice, he's gotten very good at this type of puzzle! Better than his mama. ;)

An old dog shows us some more tricks
Since my first encounter with the artful playful logic problems published by Raymond Smullyan I have been a fan. This book is consistent with the rest of his work; engaging, enjoyable and excellent.

Fun with logic. But wait, there's more!
The bulk of the book is Smullyan's further adventures in the land of Liars and Truth-Tellers, told with his customary enthusiasm. A significant bonus is an approach to the "speed and distance" word problems familiar from high school algebra. Smullyan shows how some quite challenging problems of this kind can be done by reasoning with no equations at all.

A beautiful collection of puzzles
A very enjoyable book, starting with very simple puzzles for kids to more smart ones in the end, with some jokes here and there. I found very relaxing to read it!

Another triumph for Mr Smullyan
This book is of a very high calibre, and some of the puzzles inside are true brain-stoppers. Pick up and go, or immerse yourself for hours. The choice is yours.

Nice logic riddles
I bought this book because I was looking for some clever logic riddles. And: The logic riddles in this book really are clever and, what's more, the little stories built around them are very nice.I only wonder if the readers addressed by the brainteasers in the first chapters (most of which are 2 equations with 2 variables) are able to solve the logic riddles in the later chapters and if the readers addressed by the logic riddles are bored by the equations, respectively. Due to that question: 4 out of 5 stars.(Please apologize my poor english in this review - I'm german...)
