True Temper KHM Kids Garden Hoe

I’m an older small lady and was hoping this would be a good size and weight for me. I’m afraid it may not hold up for me but after all, it was not real expensive and described as a child’s tool. I’m sure I will be able to justify keeping it.

This is a great tool it is well built and only difference to a regular one is the size of the blade. I like using this instead of the larger one in tight spaces. This is not a toy.

Years ago, I purchased True Temper Real Tools for Kids (3 hoes, 3 shovels, 2 garden rakes, and 2 leaf rakes) to be used in the public school preschool where I taught. We gardened, used them to refurbish the sandbeds, redistribute the pea gravel under the playground equipment, etc. The four-year-olds learned about using tools and working and it was wonderful! Although I am retired the tools for that class are still usable. Then I went online and found these tools and purchased a set for me and the grandchildren to use at my home. We like them so much that I added another set this Christmas just to be sure that we would have some more in case any of them wore out and were unavailable later. Also, more to share. To be honest, these are the tools that I choose to use for myself (age 64) even when no child is around. Love these tools!!

I ordered 5 of these for props for a show. They were perfect and lightweight but I gave 4 stars because I received 4 of 1 color and 1 of another color which cause the director to revise the scene these were used in...and they took too long to arrive. Other than that, the items were great!!

I'm vertically challenged and have purchased three of these over the years-not for a kid, but for me. I broke one in an incident no garden tool would've withstood, the second one got stolen by a pesky goblin thief and the third one, which I'm on now, came in yellow, not my beloved purple.But these are real tools, designed by kids but loved by the short.

So far the best thing is that the kids (5th graders) picked up the tools and used them. I think that's the proof needed. They are not toys but just enough smaller than adult size to make them handier for smaller hands. Thanks for a great product.

Great for my 3 year old but don't know how it would hold up for a kid around 7 or 8 years old. Would put a screw where handle goes into blade for extra support.

I was quite pleased and surprised to find that this tool was made in the USA.It is time for my children to join me in the toil of a huge garden...and these hoes(I purchased 2.) will make that possible.I really didn't think I'd find a quality, youth sized hoe.These are well constructed and nicely priced too! This hoe is the right size for me. I am a small person. Most hoes are two big for me.
