Filters sensationally well
First of all let me correctly define the filtration parts of the Makita VC4710 as I think the Amazon ads throw the word 'nano' around too loosely and incorrectly:- The Makita filters themselves are the 'nano' filters. You can also install HEPA filters here- The Makita fleece bag is a bag that captures most of the dust and debris before it gets to the filters (and by itself is not 'nano')- The Makita plastic disposal bag which I use to line the interior of the vacuum to keep it cleanI am using these fleece bags on an older model Makita VC4710 industrial vacuum cleaner which I purchased around 7 years ago. I mainly use the vacuum to clean my house. The hose is so long, I can reach pretty much any room without moving the cleaner around. I recently decided to change the fleece bag after 3-4 years and what a surprise it was to open up the vacuum cleaner! The original nano filters and the interior of the vacuum unit looked brand new! The fleece bag had pretty much captured 99% of any dust or debris. I used compressed air to clean the filter elements and I could see no dust coming off of them at all, after 3-4 years of using the vacuum. In addition, I am using the Makita disposable plastic liners to keep the bin of the vacuum clean and there was no dust whatever that escaped the fleece bag! So I simply reused the plastic liner and nano filters and put in a new fleece bag. In addition, the fleece filter bag was only 30-40% full after 3-4 years of use.Of course if you are using the HEPA filters and doing asbestos abatement, the fibers are so tiny they are not visible to the eye, and some may have passed thru the fleece bag and are embedded on the HEPA filters, which is why you use them to prevent release into the environment (or into your lungs). But if you are using the regular fleece bag for general industrial use against non-lead, non-asbestos dust and debris, it looks to me they will do a phenomenal job of protecting the nano filters and interior mechanism of the vacuum so the latter will pretty much last forever. To me, Makita did a fantastic engineering job on the design of the VC4710 vacuum cleaner unit and components.

Great dust bags
These are great vacuum/ dust bags. Amazing how thick and sturdy they are. The vacuum is the best but a lot of it is down to this bag. Great! It holds a LOT of debris

Great Value
Fleece Bags are ideal for fine dust collection. These particular bags are cheaper and hold more material than my Bosch Dust Extractor that I use at work, but that also may be due to the higher performance of Makita’s Dust Extractor

For masonry dust
These work pretty well, and do a nice job of protecting the vacuum filter. My guys average one bag a day cutting mortar for tuckpointing with an 8" saw.The weak spot on these is the cardboard gasket where the bag connects to the machine. This sometimes tears away before the bag is full.

Seam problem
I bought these filters for my new makita vacuum that works as advertised although these filters seem to possibly be defective, so far 3 out of the five have failed at the bottom of the seem, I have had the original filter and one other filled completely up with no problem, I use the vacuum when grinding high spots on concrete.

First time user of This Awesome Makita Vacuum
First time user of This Awesome Makita Vacuum. Grinding floors for setting tile is what we do and this is the best find for this size versatilty and price range. it worked well for a couple of hours and then the bag failed at the seam and made a big mess that took a long time to clean up!. A little deisapointed. for the price it should last longer!

Beware Defective Bags
So I pop in a brand new hepa filter p-79859 at $200 plus and then install my Nano Filter bag P-78293 and proceedto vacuum concrete dust from a floor grinding job. Everything is fine until I open the vac up to empty the bag and I find concrete dust all over the interior of the vacuum with my new hepa totally caked in the dust and my Fleece Nano Filter Bag with a split bottom seem. Needless to say I can't even return the Nano bag as it is now a toxicity risk. The Nano bag isn't so much an issue as it is not as expensive as the Hepa at $200 however. Needless to say the hepa is now pretty much toast. So if you are using these bags you should check very carefully the seem work around the edges. It looked fine to me but now I think I may have run it for a while without actually vacuuming any material. The bag ruptured after about 15 minutes of use.
