I enjoy listening to Nick and following his lessons on ine; it makes me feel as if l am back in the classroom. Further, it gave me a clearer understanding of drawing the "croquis" for sketching. Nick's instructions are very clear and it is such fun to listen and follow. I have purchased his book, "A Passion for Fashion"; it is super! The book is challenging me to get back into pattern making and sewing...l am a big fan of NICK!!

I am a huge fan of Nick. Have been following and supporting since Project Runway. He very charismatic, energetic and VERY informative. A great teacher. I'm loving reading this book! Unfortunately mine came damaged so I've had to order another.

Very good book

Expected to get patternmaking and tailoring help from Nick, after subscribing to his youtube channel, the author is a great mentor and teacher. What this book does is arm you with a bit of knowledge on illustration, costing, useful information, tidbits and helpful stories from Mr. Verreos' career. I hope there's tailoring and dressmaking tips in his next book, because it's missing in this one. Nick gives great cheats and shortcuts to make methods simple but full proof. A Passion for Fashion guides you on the workings of the fashion industry and what to expect. It's a great read for anyone, not just up and coming fashion students and designers. The initial pages with the croquis is very helpful if want to trace or copy quick poses to sketch your out your designs. Practice makes you perfect, like Nick, you can become a great designer if you try out all the patterns there are and improve your patternmaking and tailoring skills. You develop an eye for proportion, fashion is all about proportions. What is not stressed enough in India is that being a good tailor and patternmaker makes you a great designer. Getting your hands dirty with literally building your work from a sketch is what needs to be encouraged more, rather than depending wholly on darzis and sewing machinists after graduating from design school, or worse, designing without learning to cut, sew, sketch as is the case so often here in our country, where every fourth person is a fashion designer.
