I would have recommended purchase; but not at $30
compact LED map light.Reason for 2-stars (vs 1 or less): compact, LED map light! Bright, focused beam.Reason for 2-stars (vs 3, 4 or 5): There is a separate current limiting circuit board not shown in the picture. This small (about 1-inch square) board has no means of mounting- no screw or post holes. It either freely hangs or needs to be taped down somehow. More significantly, this is most definitely NOT an eye-ball light. While it appears to be a ball mounted LED, you'll be lucky to get 5 degrees of motion in any direction. The 2 screws that hold the retainer (the silver, pointed arm in the photo) extend into the ball, and prevent motion. If you back out the screws, the ball becomes loose and freely rotates, resulting in loosening of the retainer ring. At $10, I would have recommended purchase; at $30, I'd look for something else

poor quality light
Installed this in my truck for a map light and loved it but it only lasted about a hour before it burned out. Returned it and got another one and it too lasted about a hour before it burned out. Now I have to find a different one that will cover the hole.

Excellent Product
This is a very high quality little eyeball fixture! All-metal (apparently, anodized aluminum) construction with fit and finish better than expected. The seller also is excellent... I contacted the seller about an issue not related to the product, and found them to be extraordinarily knowledgable and eager to help. All in all, very highly recommended.

Perfect for small areas.
These are great. I am actually using them as mini spotlights in my house in some really small areas as accent focal points. Make sure you get the right transformer.These have a great light.
