Pretty and functional
I’m pleased with this bowl. I’ve even used it i the floorboard to knit when traveling. The inly question mark for me is the cut out part isn’t finished so I have not put my yarn through it. I’m concerned it might snag or grab my yarn. Please understand I’m not saying it WILL do that, it’s just a concern so I haven’t tried it. Having said that, I used this product on a daily basis and will probably be buying another one or two for stranded or fair isle knitting.

Only one little hitch.
Holes for yarn scratchy. Used a clear varnish on the bare wood.

Nice gift!
This makes a nice gift for someone who knits or crochets. It works well for holding and feeding the yarn, and it looks very elegant.

Beautiful and works well
Works well and as intended. Just needs another quick sanding with a finer grit sandpaper if you are using a fine or fuzzy yarn. Works well with cotton yarn.Probably won’t work well with giant yarns. Doesn’t work well with yarns on a cone.

Not what I expected
It is a beautiful and usable bowl, but I expected solid wood and not pressed/manufactured wood.

These bowls make knitting 1000x easier.
This is a must-have for knitting. I always struggle with getting yarn tangled when I knit and it's a pain to fix. With this the yarn ball moves seamlessly and I don't have to think about it. This is really nice quality for the price.

Helps me knit
My first bowl arrived with a large crack in one side of the bowl. It had to have happened before it was placed in the shipping box, because there was no damage to the box. Amazon quickly replaced the bowl, which I quite like. With a large ball of yarn, the slit doesn't quite work, but the bowl itself keeps the ball rotating, and not running away under the couch. With a smaller yarn ball, the slit works just fine in terms of feeding the yarn. The wood is nice. The holes for needles are unnecessary, as they are too small for average or large sized needles.

Raw edges, not finished as shown in picture
The edges where the yarn passes through were rough and were not finished edges as advertised. I had to smooth it with sand paper as the yarn kept snagging.
