BeginAgain Number Snail Puzzle - Educational Wooden Number Puzzle - Kids 3 and Up

It's so cute!!! It's smaller than I thought it would be but it's so cute!!! Got this for my nephew's 4th birthday. He's already pretty familiar with number 1-10 but he's just starting to find puzzles fun. Plus the colors are very vibrant! No nicks or dents or smudges. The roman numerals will be good too, he'll be able to tell time on fancy clocks and know which super bowl it is. Life skills.

Overall, I like this puzzle. It is smaller than most children's puzzles you see in -stores...the wood box that the snail comes displayed in measures 6" long, 5" high, and 1" deep. The box is constructed of solid beechwood, the puzzle pieces are cut from rubber-wood, and the snail is finished with water-based colors. I really love that this puzzle is constructed entirely of solid wood and is void of particle boards and plywood unlike most children's puzzles today. I was however a bit disappointed in the quality of the sanding, hence the loss of one star.Several of the pieces in the puzzle that we received are very rough around the edges. I almost wonder if they sanded the pieces at all. It looks like they just cut the wood out and then proceeded onto the paint. Perhaps we got one that missed the sanding step of the manufacturing process since no one else seems to have had this problem.Other than the rough edges we like the puzzle and so does our two year old daughter. It is a bit tough for her to assemble on her own with out a little help from an adult but I expect that she will master it soon enough. We will probably try and take some sand paper to it in the near future to smooth it out so that she doesn't get any splinters...unfortunately though this will also take off some of the beautiful paint colors.---- UPDATE 2/12/2014 ----When Begin Again toys became aware of the quality puzzle that we received they offered to ship us a replacement puzzle at no charge or hassle to us. The replacement puzzle they sent was much better in terms of quality and sanding. In light of the improved quality of the second puzzle as well as the good customer service I received from the manufacturer I am upping my review rating from four stars to five. I highly recommend this company as I have found them very easy to work with.

Super cute puzzle. Nice and thick, brightly colored, numbers and Roman numerals - all great for an active small person. Highly recommend.

I bought this for my 2 year old for his birthday. He had the elephant version of this puzzle, and I thought he would enjoy something a little more difficult and perhaps with more learning involved. He obviously doesn't understand the numbers yet, but he's already doing a good job at putting it together. There's a bit of a learning curve, but he caught on quickly.

Perfect for little kids! They learn the numbers and to do complicated puzzles! It has also this wooden box for storage! Would definitely buy it again!

Easy way to teach colors and numbers to children. In addition it poses certain level of challenge when putting it together:) (when you keep the picture out of sight) 😉

My two years grandson was very interested in this. However, he tried long time to do it,he did not make it. size is a little bit small to him,but he is good at each shape to put together. After he learn a number order, he can do it easily. I hope more design come up these wooden puzzles!

Ordered this and the puzzle came JUST in time for christmas so that I can't buy something else for this friend.......WITH NO NUMBER 9. All the parts are there but there is just NOTHING painted on the part of the puzzle that should have a number 9. And now there are no more left to order through amazon.SO not impressed.
