Soft and comfortable
I was somewhat skeptical because of the price, but I've owned this product for several week now I'm very satisfied with it. I've sat on many futons which were just uncomfortable and made my back hurt, but not this one. Would recommend, 10/10.Also, I too experienced a bad aroma when unpacking, it went away after 3 or 4 days. It's pretty typical for foam products.

Terrible toxic stench
Smells like it was in a factory where roach spray was bombed on the mattress to mask the smell of various other chemicals.Update; still airing it out....it still stinks.as a matter of fact , moved it into the garage because rain and now the entire garage is hotboxing toxic mattress fumes.It feels dangerous, headache inducing, makes eyes dry out within moments. Wish I could send this bit of chemical warfare back.

Smells like strong chemicals after months
Comfortable but I can’t get over the smell. We’ve had it for months and it still smells like chemicals. It doesn’t bother my husband but I am unable to even be in the same room with it.

The Smell!
I read the reviews before I purchased this. A few said it smelled really bad when opened. Quite a few said it kinda smelled at first but, after airing for a day or few, the odor went away. I opened it up almost 2 months ago & the smell wasn't terribly awful. But, it's been airing all this time and still smells very chemiacally. If I sit or lay on it, my clothes and body reek. My living room has an odd odor at all times.As far as comfort? It is just an unyielding pad. There is no give. Now, that may be in part because my futon is wooden, a opposed to one of the metal mesh ones. Which is why I gave it 2 instead of 1 stars. Very disappointed!

Bigger than expected
A lot bigger than the measurements I gave. Definitely a bit more comfortable but still on the thin side. A bit of mixed feelings about this. But it will do.

No good
Very thin and uncomfortable..Flattens quickly within a few days..Going to throw it out and try to purchase a good one who specializes in futons.

Not 8" Thick
This thing is nowhere near 8" thick not does it fit my standard futon frame. It is about 8" short. Otherwise it is comfortable for a very thin mattress.
