VERY SLOW AND I CANNOT FIND A MEMORY UPGRADE FOR IT.EDIT: AFTER 3 WEEKS OF USE, THE RIGHT SIDE HINGE IS LIFTING UP FROM THE BOTTOM. I CAN PUSH IT BACK DOWN BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING EVERY TIME I OPEN IT. SAME THING HAPPENED TO A LENOVO I BOUGHT EARLIER THIS YEAR AND THE THING COULD NOT BE FIXED. LENOVO CLAIMED IT WAS DUE TO AN ACCIDENT WHICH IT WAS NOT. TWO COMPUTERS THIS YEAR WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I AM SENDING IT BACK TO HP FOR REPAIR. 2nd EDIT: JUST LEARNED THAT HP SOLD THIS AS NEW WHEN IN FACT IT WAS A REFURBISH. THE DAMAGE IT HAS WAS NOT FIXED WHEN IT WAS RETURNED BEFORE. I ONLY FOUND OUT WHEN I GOT A MESSAGE FROM HP SAYING MY 3 WEEK OLD PURCHASE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THIS SAME SERIAL NUMBER MACHINE WAS FIRST SOLD JULY 3, 1917 WITH THE WARRANTY EXPIRING IN AUGUST, 2018. THEN IT WAS GIVEN TO AMAZON TO SELL AS "HP 2019 Newest HP 17 17.3" HD+ Premium Laptop". THIS ON A MACHINE AT LEAST TWO YEARS OLD. AN INEXCUSABLE ACTION BY HP!

Bought this computer and was surprised that I could not connect to the internet at 5GHZ. If I would have known that, I would not have bought it.

This unit failed after one week. I called the service line provided for assistance and I was told it would cost me $49.00. I returned the unit for a full refund and am very dissatisfied.

Slowest laptop I have ever owned. Locks up with more than about two screens open. Have trouble just moving files from one folder to another. Must reboot to get rid of the locked up screens or just to do something else. Doesn't run most of my old Win7 stuff regardless of the compatibility mode. I could live with slow but the screen locking up is a deal breaker for me.UPDATE: 3 weeks later. Updated firmware, bios and windows10. This thing is still SLOW, SLOW and suffers screen lockup and freeze. I am going to see if Linux will run on it. Other than that it's a heading for the dumpster.UPDATE: 6 wks later. I tried to install Win 7 or Linux on it to see if it was the operating system. I set it up in the boot options but it will not see the USB stick or the DVD to boot from and install an OS on the blank hard drive. This is a complete loose and waste of money. I first used computers in 1968, built micro in the early 1980's, this is the worst of the worst.Sept 2019: This tried all the windows updates, looked for firmware and bios updates. On a good day it took at least 10 minutes to boot up and be ready to use. Still locked up the screen when more than two windows were open. Managed to get the new version of Ubuntu Linix installed. It now boots up are ready to run well under 30 seconds. Works great and fast. I am not changing the one star rating because it won't run with Win10 which is what it was sold with. For Linux it's a 5 star machine. I could only install Linux from a bootable sd card. The laptop would NEVER see the DVD/CD drive to boot from.

Possibly the slowest computer I’ve ever owned. Don’t expect to use more than one program at a time. Any system updates/changes/uninstalls take about twice as long. HP/MS infested with bloatware and such. Takes a few days to set up between updates and sync if you use cloud such as Dropbox.

The computer is a wonderful computer for the price, top of the line without the high price, everything I needed and I needed one very fast, ordered it and had it at my home within three days, my computer went up on me and I use my computer for many different things, for three days I was lost, when it arrived, I could have talked me through the set up but I had called a computer expert and they came over and set up the computer they way I wanted and needed it to be for my needs, so I could not be more happy with the computer and the quick delivery, set up and I was back on line and working, it is scary how dependent I have become to a computer, but I have and it was scary not having one, and Amazon came through with a high quality product at a price that I could afford, which also is a situation that most times people save up for because, I needed a good high quality computer to do what I need to do on a daily basis, so thank you again Amazon they came through as they always do with a high quality product very fast

I like the being able to talk to it and tell it what to do.Easy installation that talks you through every step.

I purchased this laptop to replace my old one (almost 9 years old when it bit the dust). It has exceeded all my hopes, and it does everything I need and more. Easy to get it up and running.
