Perfectly machined!
Just got these today, and wow! The negative reviews mostly state that the things are deceptively advertised as being two pieces. Well, they ARE two pieces. They are just so well made that, when screwed together, the seam between them is undetectable! Isn't that what you'd want? The first few rounds of disconnecting and reconnecting will get the threads broken in. Far from being a flaw, that's an indication of how precise the tolerances are in their production. If the two pieces seem inseparable when you first get them, just use two pairs of pliers and some gentle pressure to get them to disconnect. A single drop of oil will have them sipping-and-sliding forevermore. I am very impressed. 👍

Very well made
I have not installed it yet but very happy with the machining of these two parts. The seam is invisible when screwed together and the fit is very tight with no play.

Picture on the package and actually what you get or two different things
Was disappointed nut insert shown in the picture did not come with the package after reading is a little deceptive by the picture.In a pretty material it says nothing about them that so be careful if you’re wanting to use the nut. Was able to use their assembly to make the connections I wish to anyway.

You MUST understand it DOES separate.
I loved the nearly invisible line between halves. Excellent quality and functionality! You may need pliers (applied carefully to prevent thread damage) to un-screw one half from the other initially…but believe me, they DO separate!

It DOES unscrew into two pieces!
This is a quality machined product. I too thought it was incomplete until I researched it a bit. I clamped it in my vise with rubber jaws, then using a rubber protected pair of pliers I was able to slowly unscrew and separate the pieces. Just be careful not to damage the product. After several cycles it easily unscrews with just my fingers.

Hiking staff joint
Easy to install and very solid joint. Allowed me to pack my staff in my luggage for a trip to Egypt.

Nice brass coupler
Easy to use, yturn the cane oversized, install the coupler, and turn the cane down to the coupler for a effect fit.
