Are these o-rings safe to use with my drinking water?

Yes! These o-rings are molded from NSF/ANSI 61 certified Buna-N rubber for safe and clean drinking water.

What is the NSF/ANSI 61 certification?

NSF/ANSI 61 is a health standard for products that come into contact with drinking water. This stringent certification ensures that these o-rings are safe to use in your drinking water system and won't leach harmful chemicals into your water.

How often do I need to change my filter housing's o-ring?

Captain O-Ring's high quality replacement water filter housing o-rings are designed for reliable extended use. Still, it is typically recommended to replace your o-ring on every third filter change to ensure it is in top shape to prevent leaks.

Can I use grease or lubricant on these o-rings?

Grease is typically not needed with our high quality o-rings if the sealing surfaces are clean and debris-free. Simply wet the o-rings with water before install. If lubrication is preferred, we recommend using food-grade silicone grease.

What if I don't know the correct size/part number o-ring that I need for my filter housing?

We make dozens of different water filter housing o-ring sizes for the hundreds of different models out there. Contact Captain O-Ring LLC and we're happy to help get you set up with the correct o-ring size/part number for your filter housing!
