Whistle works fine. Read product description. States "made right here in the USA". USA must be the building in Lishui, China. See the photos. These vendors need to be more accurate on where things are made. The reason I purchased this model was it was advertised as made in the USA, which it is not. Like I said, the whistle works fine.

I honestly wish it would have shown the “made in China” stamp on it before I purchased it. It’s on there in huge print so it’s easy to see. I was purchasing this as a Christmas gift but I changed my mind after seeing it on there, it just makes it look tacky

BAD BAd BAD! Shame on this company for false advertising. The item pictured and described was NOT what was mailed. I had to tell family of my granddaughter to throw it out.. made in China? What was sent was NOT pictured or made by the company they advertised. They are stealing an image and company's name. Everything in this description is false , a lie : " Horizon Hobby Brooklyn Peddler 4-Tone Pinewood Train Whistle", not true . Most of these are made in China, would never order anything from China for a child. ESPECIALLY when it's a toy that would have contact with her mouth. This is NOT made by Horizon Hobby .

I have no idea if this is hand crafted or not but the attention to detail is amazing. To start off, its a wooden toy with no grains sticking out to give the kids splinters. Its finely sanded all around including rounded corners. Its a large whistle at 8x1.5x1.5 inches. It sounds really nice too. The pitch of the sound is a bit low. If you were a fan of Thomas the Train, this wont match the sound. If amazon allowed me to submit audio, I would give an example of how awesome it sounds.

For the price it’s a nice little train whistle. Many have commented about specific train whistles not being loud enough or requiring too much lung capacity for blowing. No train whistle will ever sound like the one attached to the train making you late to work. I never expected this or any train whistle to be extremely noisy, only loud enough to annoy me after about 5 minutes. This does the trick, and it definitely keeps my toddler smiling. He himself doesn’t have enough air to make it loud, but i sure do, and that makes him happy.

A nicely made, novelty toy, it is probably best suited to kids (or adults) who really love trains. It was not a hit at our house, I think I liked it better than anyone else. The kids found it interesting for all of about 10 seconds and now don't play with it at all. The one we received operates at a low-to-medium volume. I think it might be more interesting if it were louder, and that might be a "toy specific" issue (like which one you get). Not a bad toy, just not for everyone.

I'm no woodworker, but it seems to be well made. Since it's for my 2 year old, I checked for any splinters/rough wood and there are none. It's well sanded and there's no trace of sloppy gluing. It's loud enough but not TOO loud, perfect for playing indoors without going crazy. The kid loves it. I like that it's USA made and kept thinking it would be neat to see a How Its Made episode on it.

I am a teacher and using it when we do our “Sharing Train” My students love this activity made more authentic by the whistle.

Great sound, requires more volume of air than my young kids can produce so it wasn't nearly the hit I thought it would be. Beautiful product though :)

Bought this for my daughter. She loved it! Works great. It's fun.

This was exactly as described, good quality and sound. Really happy with my purchase of this product. Works perfectly, kids love it.
