Inspirational guide to LEGO architecture
I've had my hands on this book for only a few days but it's already at the top of my list of favorite books on LEGO (and I own or have read many of the books on LEGO design and building).I love this particular book because it is filled with page after page over wonderful ideas for any aspect of architecture. The book invites you to experiment with your LEGO collection to build ornate windows, sloping roofs, rounded walls, etc. This book is not a how-to guide. Different architectural elements are presented over several pages with different examples using different pieces. The text is kept at a minimum, giving short explanations when necessary and piece descriptions and part number (Great for online shopping for specific pieces). There are few instructions on how to build and when there are it is more if a diagram rather than a step-by-step guide. There are few examples of completed products. Most of the focus of the book is on different architecture elements in isolation. Its up to the reader to take these different ideas and construct an architectural masterpiece.Highly recommended for advanced LEGO builders. The book might be a disappointed for parents of younger children as the idea require a lot of very specific brick types (and often in vast quantities). Overall, inspirational and well-done. Highly recommended!

What a great book! Novel idea with excellent execution!
As a curator for a small children's library with 1000s of the neatest picture books and coffee table books from around the world, I've seen a lot of Lego books--many of which are fun and impressive. This one's a bit different than any others I've seen, and is such a great idea! I love it.Often Lego books show complete creations (buildings, bots, animals, etc.), which are fun to look at but not applicable or reproducible for most builders and children. This book is different. It focuses on parts and portions of buildings which can be incorporated into anyone's designs. It not only inspires builders to think outside the box, but gives an excellent and creative foundation for them to launch from.Thank you Alice for sharing your wonderful ideas and talent with the world! This is not only an excellent idea for a book, but an exceptional execution of that idea.I was an avid lego builder as a child, and now I'm an internationally published eco-architect designing affordable eco-friendly homes around the world. I think it's so neat that children can be inspired to think creatively, build their own inventions, dream big, work with their hands, etc.

So much information in one book. Awesome!
This book is a must have for anyone who builds Lego buildings. It takes you way beyond the standard Lego doors and windows and into the realm of sophisticated construction that makes your build really stand out. The book is full of concepts that add realism and actual architectural details . Each concept is presented in an instructional format that is easy to follow and duplicate. You will not be disappointed if you get this book. It has become a constant referral source for me.Thank you Alice!

EXCELLENT LEGO IDEAS
I bought this book mostly for our grandchildren to use in creating amazing buildings/villages when they come over and play with the 1000’s of Legos we have for their enjoyment. This book is laid out SO WELL, and it is so organized, that they even include the official Lego part numbers that they use to build different aspects and styles of architecture. Absolutely EXCELLENT!! I believe I will have to get a second book and send it to my grandchildren way out in CA—as they can’t come to our house as frequently as the ones that live nearby.

Favorite Lego architecture book!
What a fun book full of ideas about creating architectural pieces out of Legos. Our granddaughter couldn't put it down. Loved the walls, roofs, windows, and everything else. Lots of descriptions and how-tos. Very good.

Practical examples of what can be done with Lego and how to include them in your builds. Written by the Queen of MOCs. Her builds are without parallel

Good foundation for extending ones own architecture projects...
I haven't used this much yet, as I'm still building sets as is but it is clear it is a good foundation for braking out of the Lego designers preset moulds when the time comes...

useful for Lego construction fans
Very comprehensive and detailed, this is a technical book, not one for those who want to see pretty pictures of actual, i.e. mounted, Lego construction ideas (these can be found in the other book in that collection, "the lego architect", which I recommend as a pair with this). It gives ideas and lists all that you need to make specific parts of constructions (i.e. windows, doors, roofs, domes, porticoes etc.) in various styles, and it is true to its title, as a tool with ideas for building, and most useful as a reference book to those who want to engage in bespoke Lego construction projects.
