Very clean sound with more lows and highs..perfect for a Strat
I got this after I got the mogami gold to compare them. For my guitar, Se Santana, I prefer the mogami gold because it shines in the mid frequency range. The platinum has a wider frequency range from lows to highs, but even though it has more lows, it is not muddy, its pretty tight. Also, the highs are more defined. If I had single coils, I bet I would love it more, but since I have a humbucker guitar, I love the mogami gold better. Although, I still have a mogami platinum patch cable in my signal chain via a blender pedal, so I can mix the amount of highs I want from the platinum. I find that my guitar sounds best with a mogami gold instrument cable and majority mogami gold patch cables for my 7 pedal chain with one mogami platinum patch cable in the return part of the x-blender pedal that is second to last in the chain behind a buffer. This allows me to add lows and highs to my tone without sucking out the mid range.Even though I prefer the gold over the platinum, I will still keep it just in case I choose to get a Strat in the future.I wish the cables have a mix knob that can control the ratio of the gold and platinum sound lol.

They Make The Difference
Was using GLS years ago and a friend recommended Monster. Have been using Monster guitar cables since and during that time, started experimenting with replacing pedal cables w/Mogami, seemingly noticing a slight difference in noise reduction with each replacement. When my guitar cable totally shut down, I ordered a Mogami Gold cable to replace it. I instantly notice a big difference in noise reduction and clarity. Granted, my old cables were just that, old but never had my rig been so quiet w/such great clarity. I've since replaced all but one pedalboard to amp cable and everything is as close to dead silent as one could imagine. The final cable is on order and I can't imagine finding any cables that could possibly perform better. It's worth the price!

The Last Cable You'll Ever Need!
Ok it's expensive...very expensive but you get what you pay for. This IS a reference cable, i.e. other cable brands will be compared to this in terms of quality, sound, and other specs. A must for recording and even better for live applications (it's built like a tank). And with Mogami's lifetime warranty, your investment is worthwhile.

Wide frequency
This is my ideal guitar cable. Durable with high quality. On the cable box there was a little sticker that said something of the sort: beware this cable has a very wide frequency range and will require you to adjust the gain.

Pro cable for high end pro sound
I use high end cable and AC power cable as well. They ALL matter! I have recorded this platinum Mogami into Pro Tools a-b’d with standard cable and it’s that thick and clear sound we all want. If you are a person who is just a hobby player you may not get the improvement but for guys like me who play 100s of shows a year it’s a must. Ya gotta realize that if I add 5 things that improve my sound 10% each that an overall 50% improvement! So high end gear and cables matter.

Don't waste your money
I got it to see what the hype is about. I use a Kirlin 20$ cable and it sounds the same (and looks better). Btw my bass is like 6k, amp and speakers like 7k, pedal board ~3k, power conditioner etc etc. Suffice to say, no, buying a ridiculously over priced and over hyped cable will not make you sound better (maybe in your head because you want to beleive you didn't spend over 100$ on a 6' cable for the name on it...). The most annoying part is they don't release any info about the cable capacitance, this is literally the most important piece of info players need usually, and the they hide it. Just because of that, I'm going to get a GLS cable because they are actually a transparent manufacturer and don't sell a cable with a 0.001% diff in sound Q for 10x the amount.
