Camlink TP1700 Camera Camcorder Tripod

Absolutely brilliant for the price! Purchased this for my 12 year old daughter thinking it would be alright but I have to say it is excellent, surprisingly stable with loads of features. I would have expected to pay at least 2-3 times as much for this level of quality, an absolute bargain.

borrowed my bf's tp-1700 as it is light weight and i wanted to get some nice stills of the night lights on exhibition in the westend (w1). turns out it's not strong enough to hold a nikon d40x with 50mm f1.4 for taking remote controlled photos 6s exposure. with no contact at all, camera promptly fell off (yes it was clipped and secured into place) smashing it to smithereens :,( i dont feel angry, or sad, i feel SICK. once i've taken out a loan to replace my kit i will purchase a more substantial tripod for my partner and hence forth i shall put up with my original heavy 30yr old dinosaur of a tripod which has yet to collapse on me!!!

Bought this to replace an older, more bulky, tripod. positives: Light, easy to carry, and up and ready in a second. Easy to use and as fidely as my other tripod. I like the quick release system and the spirit level. Negatives: Only one really, I think my camera (Fuji FinePix SL1000) may be too heavy for this model. Probably should have bought TP2100 or maybe the 2500.

Brilliant tri-pod ! Very strong, well structured peice of kit. If your looking for a tripod for filming, and your on a tight budget this is the pod for you!

I've changed 3 tripods in about a year. All of them are about 50 inch. I can say that this one is strong and stable enough in windy condition (some of mine couldn't well fix the middle rod, so it would shake when operate in the highest level). It can hold my NEX5N very well. I don't know what the material is, but it's not easily bent. The rack controlled height is helpful and it is fixed quite well. Ones of the drawback I can see is the metal pin at the ankle joint always press on my camera making scratch which I prevent it by put a small paper between it. Also it cannot fix the camera very well in angular adjustment. By the way, it can be managed by adjusting the leg height and bend the camera somehow instead. These are the reasons I rate it 4/5 star. To sum up, this is a very valuable model comparing with the others with similar size though it's a bit more expensive. Helpful and practical for travel, but if you are aiming to use only in the living room, go for the cheaper one.

The first one came and it was broken and contacted the seller and he sent me the replacement quickly and it works perfectly. Its not too strong but does the job well. :) Quite happy with it for the price.

The first thing that you have to know about this tripod is that it is a lot smaller than it appears to be in the image. It is not a good tripod for video cameras unless they are very light and do not require you to pan or tilt the tripod so only really good as a stand which is what I use it for mounting monitors and microphones to it which does the job fine. Very light and thin legs but as I say is fine what what I use it for. Also can be used in photography although it isn't very sturdy. Its not very expensive anyway so what do you expect really? If you want video tripods try camlink's range of higher spec tripods for around 20-30 quid which are fantastic!

Petit prix, poid agréable et taille correcte. un seul bémol, il n'est pas super pour filmer (il fait facilement des acoups lorsqu'on déplace la rotule. Mais pour ce prix la on le pardonne.
