I'm loving this tent and looking forward to many more nights in the forest or at the beach.
I love this tent! I (a 71 year old grandma) took my 3 granddaughters and a friend of theirs (ages 4 to 12) camping for 4 nights in the Sierra National Forest of California. On a previous trip with them, things were so cramped in my (9' by 9') tent that I bought this one.On this trip , we had 3 twin sized air mattresses and 2 adult sized backpacking sleeping pads. We had plenty of space, including s bag of clothing for each person. There was plenty of space for the girls to play inside if they wanted. The door was easy enough for all for us, including the 4 year old, to zip and unzip. The oldest granddaughter found out that if you put your hand inside the tent to pull the zipper, it doesn't catch on the flap. All of the girls helped me put up and take down, and this process was very easy. I really appreciated the guyline adjusters that were included. There was no problem getting the guy lines to the exact right length. I'm going to buy these adjusters for all of my other tents. As in a review I read before purchasing, I found the stakes to be less than useful. They were too short for such a large tent and pulled out of the ground, and the angle of the bend at the top was too great to securely hold. However, intrepid camper that I am, a long time ago I bought a bunch of yellow, large, thick plastic stakes. Whimpy tent stakes have found their way into new tent boxes for decades. They didn't even work on the guy lines, because the guy lines need to be taut. I have smaller yellow plastic stakes for the guy lines. I recycle the provided stakes. Tent makers should just forget about the stakes and drop the price of the tents.I had never heard of this tent maker before. I was impressed with the quality of the floor especially. My 9foot by 9foot tent by a well-known maker has been used only twice and has multiple tears in the floor. I had loaned it to someone who apparently did not use a tarp under it. But they only camped for 2 nights and still managed to put holes in it. The key reason, I'm sure is that the floor fabric is very thin and fragile. Not this floor. You'd have to take a knife to it to get a hole. The only challenge I had with this tent was that because it was long, there was only one way it would fit on the tent pad in the campsite. That caused me to have to go around or under the guy line to get into the tent. This, of course, is not the manufacturer's fault. It's just a problem for me to solve the next time I use it. However, it is something to be aware of. Not all campgrounds can accomodate a tent this size and it would be prudent when planning a trip to check the size of the tent pad.One other complaint I read was regarding ventilation. I could imagine that in humid and warm conditions it could be a problem. I will probably never camp in a place in which humidity or temperature are problems. However, I specifically bought this tent because it was WATERPROOF. Most of my camping is done on the California coast and in the Sierra Nevada, and afternoon showers can be an issue in the mountains. With my granddaughters, I never want to chance having a trip ruined because the tent leaked and they and everything got wet and cold. Other tent makers lead you to believe that the tents are waterproof, but they are not. They are as water resistant as posible. Most tent flies don't come down far enough to run the water down the side of the waterproof bathtub bottom. This tent has a full-coverage waterproof rain fly, just like my backpacking tent.I have another trip schedules for Sequoia National Park in October. Just myself and two other ladies. We'll have to bring bullhorns to communicate.

Small issues but great overall
I have yet to use this item while out camping so this initial review is strictly based on first impressions of quality, size, ease of use and so forth from putting it up the first time to check the product out. As it gets used I will update if anything major comes up good or bad. Right off the bat when opening the packaging and getting all of the different pieces out and ready to use, I get the impression that it is a quality product. The poles seem thick and sturdy with good shock cord and easy to put together and take apart. The fabric seems strong with good stitching and definitely gives the impression that it would do well in the rain. It comes with the basic cheap tent stakes which while not great, do an adequate job. The size is quite large compared to what we've used in the past. I camp with my wife and teenage daughter and we previously used a 6 person Coleman tent. This is much roomier in every aspect. It's billed as an 8 or 9 person tent and if you are all using sleeping bags and no air mattresses, that may actually be possible. Putting this tent up was a breeze. I did it with the help of my wife and we took our time and were still able to get it completely done in less than half an hour. Trying to go faster that time could easily come down to 20 minutes if not less. Very straight forward process and can easily be done by someone with little to no experience. All in all a very good, easy to use tent that seems like it will withstand some weather as well as years of use and provide shelter for a good amount of people in that time. Some things I didn't like about the tent were the breathability for one; it's locked up tight like Fort Knox when the rain fly is on which makes it great for rain but also doesn't allow for great air circulation. Speaking of the rain fly, as best I can tell, it must be used at all times for the tent to have any structural rigidity. The rain fly ties to the tent poles and when staked, that's what holds the tent solidly in place. Until that's done the sides of the tent are not structurally sound. This covers the entire mesh top portion of the ceiling which would allow airflow and also any night time view of the stars. I mentioned the cheap stakes which are ubiquitous but do the job. Easily replaceable if you so choose but not necessary. It has pockets in the walls and a hook at the top middle for a lantern, nice features. Even with the small issues it seems to be a great tent. Barring any real world issues when we put it to use, I can definitely recommend this tent for anyone with a small family looking to get a nice sized rain proof tent for car camping.Edit: After having used the tent on a 2 day trip with my wife and daughter I can say it did great. Besides the fact that it was super spacious for the 3 of us it was rock solid and held up to 2 nights of pouring rain superbly. There was a small amount of moisture inside the tent but no puddles or accumulations and this was during repeated heavy rains with no added weatherproofing to the tent. So far I am very impressed with the quality and functionality of the tent.
