Works well, holding up well over a couple years
We use this to keep our whole beans. Lid can be a little tricky to get on/off, but that’s because it’s doing its job with a very snug fit and button for vacuum release. Once you get used to it, it’s easy and has been very reliable. I bought two, and both have been in use for a couple years. Would buy again.

Super product, excellant seal, easy to use and to clean.
I've used this now for five months and its super! I grind enough coffee beans to fill this cannister and it keeps them fresh with the vacuum seal process. I have arthritis in my hands but I am able to manage this- the lid does slide off but is tight and I appreciate it, as it has a good seal. These would be great to use for storing dry goods for camping or an RV - your coffee, sugar, flour would stay fresh and it has a very tight seal. Great product. Good price and came packaged well when it was delivered. I'm single, so I don't have much to store in my pantry but in the days when I had a large family- I would have needed many of these.

Convenient and affordable
This is a nice bargain for the price point. It's well made from a thick plastic, operates easily with only one moving part, and cleans up easily with soapy water.A partial vacuum is created when you push the top down onto the canister and most of the air is expelled automatically as you depress a small button on the lid. This size easily holds 1/2 pound of coffee, ground or whole bean. The only reason thing I would change if I could is that the manufacturer should have had the foresight in the design stage to make these stackable, so you could have your sugar container (and whatever else you want to stack up on your shelf or counter) neatly stacked with your coffee. I mean they will stack but not snug into each other so they don't slide around or knock over too easily.I did pack this in a travel bag the other day for a weekend trip to the beach. Had no problem with it staying securely closed either. If that last point doesn't matter for you then it's a 5 star review!! BTW - I paid full price so you can know this is an unbiased review.

Works well
I recently got back into grinding my own coffee beans and maintaining the work of a French press, and I have three other TightVac containers. This is an appropriate fit for a 12 oz bag of beans, but I find it best to store half the bag at a time and freeze the other. I believe the container fits just about the whole bag to its brim-- but the container maintains peak freshness for about two weeks, and it takes me about three and a half weeks to go through a bag of beans with daily use. Maintaining freshness is all about keeping smaller quantities. About the container itself: It's a sturdy plastic, vacuum seal at the press of an innovative valve button. Stands at a little over 5" tall and is 4" diameter. The opaque black color keeps light out completely to maintain freshness. These are worth investing in for food storage.

Inexpensive and effective
I bought my Coffeevac in 2015 and am still using it. It was inexpensive and very easy to use. I chose the black Coffeevac to prevent loss of flavor from exposure to light, and I think that makes a difference. The seal of the lid is still tight after 8 years, but there is one downside. The plastic is rather thin, so it has split around the sides in a few places. I wrapped the outside of the lid with clear packing tape to keep it airtight, and although it still works flawlessly, it's a little disappointing that I had to do that. Having said that, I'll eventually buy another Coffeevac because I haven't seen any better alternatives in that price range. There have been a few reviews that mention how long you can store coffee before it becomes stale. Take those numbers with a grain of salt, as there are a lot of variables. Dark, oily roasts, for example, tend to become stale quicker. I cannot comment on how long the Coffeevac will keep coffee fresh, as I roast my own coffee in 1/2-pound batches (using the Fresh Roast SR800 roaster) and then let them rest for 4 days while I consume the previous batch. One could argue I should let the coffee should rest a couple of days longer, but I have found that 4 days of rest is enough for delicious coffee, and it will never go stale if kept in the Coffeevac and consumed within a week.

Perfect for storing freshly roasted specialty coffee
Electric vacuum pump canisters are a waste of time and money for storing coffee. Freshly roasted coffee releases carbon dioxide as it rests (this is why coffee bags always have that valve in them) which naturally inhibits oxidation as long as the container is airtight enough to hold the CO2 inside. These containers provide an excellent seal and block out light which is all that you need to properly store your precious beans.

Great for storing coffee
I already have the larger version of this and I'm very happy with it. So when I wanted another smaller one for the office, I went back to the same brand and got this one. Same quality as my previous one and it works great.I'm not sure why people say it doesn't create a vacuum, because it certainly does. They are either expecting some kind of electric pump to suck ALL the air out, or they just don't know what a vacuum is. Honestly, ignore their reviews.I store it in the refrigerator and it has kept my coffee tasting fresh. If that's something you want then buy it.

Does the job
Was after something to store ground coffee that was better than just putting a clip on the bag and came across this. Arrived safely and so far so good. Looks great.
