ArkscanMCLM12 Aluminum Desk & Pole Clamp Mount Stand Holder 360° Degree Rotation Heavy Duty for iPad, iPad Mini & Universal Tablet 7" to 12"

We bought this stand to hold our iPad while using the excellent "Camera Lucida" App. The stand is supposed to be a universal mount, but the ball joint could not support the weight of my iPad without sagging. After trying many fixes mentioned online for making ball and socket joints more stable/firm (this type of joint seems problematic) we sanded/ roughed up the ball with sand paper. Finally we were able to make it work for us. We had already thrown away the packaging in the excitement of receiving it before Christmas (when will we ever learn...?) or we would have just returned it. Another problem with this design is that it is difficult to use the tightener near the table(the first joint) because the knob hits the table if you are trying to bend the first joint at an acute angle in order to hold the iPad 6 or 8" from the desk surface. It should be a slip through knob so you can keep sliding the knob out of the way as you tighten it. Thirdly, the item arrived without the pads that protect your iPad from being scratched. The vendor courteously sent us the missing item and I appreciate their responsive customer service. The stand looks professional in appearance on my art desk but I believe it would be better if the ball and joint surfaces were not painted, so that they would not be so slick which contributes to the sagging under the weight of the pad. This item would work better for lighter pads or iPhones, though it would not even bear its own weight at an acute angle when we first got it without sagging. I do not think it could hold a laptop. It is difficult to adjust the height of pad...it all takes a lot of adjusting...then you hope it doesn't sag or all is lost in using the Camera Lucida app. All in all, it looks better than it works.

This "universal" tablet stand will not properly hold a kindle reader. The tablet brackets push against the page advance/back buttons and do not allow you to properly use the kindle reader. Otherwise its a sturdy well made product, that will hold a tablet that does NOT have buttons on the edges very well. Since I wanted to use it to hold a kindle reader I cannot recommend it.

Excellent Quality of Materials and Contruction. The articulation joints are especially well made and can take a good jolt without moving the iPads position. They seem to have a very positive locking clutch. I also like the fact that there are 5 points of retention to hold your iPad / tablet in place.

Did not work with my iPad pro

Extreme waste of time. Ordered this thinking it would fit my iPad Pro 12.9… it doesn’t. Not at all. I feel the labeling was a trick to get iPad Pro 12.9 owners to buy.
