Every bourbon drinker should own this book
Being a newcomer to the subtleties of Bourbon, I was beyond thrilled to receive this e-book from NetGalley! This easy to read guide to understanding and enjoying Bourbon is broken down into three parts.Part One - History, Legends and Contemporary Truths explains useful information as to the types of bourbon produced and its importance to the United States. Part Two - Sources of Flavor focuses on the production of the liquor. Lastly, Part Three - Tasting, identifies quite a few distilleries, the attributes of the bourbon they produce and what you should expect of it in a tasting, the color, nose, palate and finish.I love this book and have already purchased a copy for my son. I may even purchase a few more for the men in my life as gifts throughout the year.If you're interested in this type of beverage, I highly recommend this book.Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the e-book of this superb book.

Understand the bourbon you drink. Find the bourbon you like.
Minnick's guide is indispensable for those setting out to understand and enjoy the pleasures of bourbon. You get a bit of the history of the spirit and the process that goes into making it, but the real value for the novice taster lies in the second half of the book where you're learning about the various taste profiles of the different brands and bottlings. Taste, find what you like, and there are a number of suggestions of other bourbons in that same flavor profile you can compare and contrast. This also serves as a great reference for bourbon tasting events, where you can use his taste profiles to set up a nice flight for your guests. A great guide!
