Good to help with child's expressive language
No words, so the child expresses his story based on the pictures. I find it's easier if you go first and the child goes second.

A well loved series
Our 4 year old grandson loves this book and the whole series. He loves deciphering the story behind the pictures, including all the emotions expressed by the characters. A charming book.

Great for creative writing and for those who aren’t able to read yet.
I bought this for my 4 year old granddaughter. She loves books, and this book allows her to learn new vocabulary and to ‘read’ to her baby sister using the pictures s she makes up her own stories. The last pages has pictures of the boy in the bathtub. I drew a swim suit on Him.

Great for Language
Great book for targeting language, as there are no words. The kids can make up their own story, make predications, and use the pictures to assist in generating a story. This allows for creative thinking. I do wish the books were slightly larger (it's about the size of my hand) so the images were easier for kids to see, but that is the only thing I would like improved. It is an excellent resource and item to have! I would recommend it.

Wonderful little book
My mother "read" this series to me when I was a kid, and I remember always reaching for this one for years afterwards. The illustrations are outstanding -- my mother and I would laugh over a different page every time we read it, because of the boy's expression, the frog's grin, or the way the dog sat. Simple things, but not only was I learning to enjoy books, I learned to use my words to tell stories, notice details, and just have fun with my parents. This isn't a passive "hear a story read to you" experience.Perhaps needless to say, this book is one of the first gifts I give to nieces and friends at baby showers or birthdays. At showers, everyone has a good laugh over the pictures, and it's always a big hit. My own kids will have the complete set -- probably before they're even born!

Great fun for the very little ones
As always, among the best books for toddlers. Too bad the small boxed set of tiny books is so difficult to find and priced outrageously. Great to use with hands and fingers and "read" the story to enhance small children's vocabulary which is the key to learning how to read as young as 3 and it is not child abuse because they love it and what a pleasure to see my 3.5 year old son jump and shouting "I can read" as he had been reading and didn't know it. Kindgarden teachers asked me how I did it. It was a game and fun. Kathleen mcElroy

A beautiful no words story
I just love this book so much. As no words are provided the reader must rely on the pictures which allows for a free flowing imaginative story telling. Even a reluctant reader can join in. I recently bought a secondhand version to replace my childhood battered copy for my own children. I would love to see them back in print.

Beautiful illustrations, suitable for the non reader as well as challenging the language of readers to express themselves to tell this story through their own eyes.

For added fun, I enlarged some of the pages to make ...
Make sure you get all 6 books in this wordless book series "A Boy, a Dog and a Frog" (1967), "Frog, Where Are You?" (1969),"A Boy, a Dog, a Frog, and a Friend" (1971), "Frog on His Own" (1973), "Frog Goes to Dinner" (1974), and "One Frog Too Many" (1975). These are enjoyable books for adults and children alike. For added fun, I enlarged some of the pages to make accompanying coloring pages for my grandson. Are you sponsoring a child overseas who does not speak English? These are the perfect gift. These are wordless, and being small and flat, they are just the specifications required by many sponsorship organizations.

A Booy, a Dog and a Frog
Como sempre os desenhos são maravilhosos. Faz um suspense na medida certa. Ainda tem uma vantagem porque o sapo está na lagoa, que é mesmo o seu lugar mais comum de ficar no entendimento de nós que somos urbanos.
