It's beautiful, but has drawbacks
I've had one since November 2018. It looks beautiful, holds knives great. But it gets dust between the acrylic and the wood; need metric allen wrench to get it apart to clean. But I thought the base was stainless steel for some reason. It isn't. Mine is rusting.

Stress Cracks in all 8 holes
We got it and the instructions said to gently, very little tighten the screws since they were shipped loose in order to not have the acrylic crack. We barely tightened them at all and I just noticed that all eight screw holes have cracks. Another purchaser appears to have also had this problem after buying it once, returning it and having the same problem on the second. I love the look of it and would be willing to pay this price if it didn't crack. I am not sure what I will end up doing - I have a little more time before I have to decide to return it. I am not sure I have the original packaging any longer.

Wood isn’t quite what’s pictured.
Great size for my new 5 knife set from Misen. We have a lot of mango wood from WestElm that I just love the color of and I thought this wood would match. The photos online of this wood look much better than in real life. It doesn’t have the grey tone I expected but it seems well made. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to keep it but the magnet works well. My new serrated knife just barely fits.

Legitimately impressed
I hesitated at the price of this. No second thoughts now. The piece looks stunning. I could not get as many knives in as advertised (granted some are larger than steak knives), but I did fit all my cooking knives in fairly easily. One minor complaint: there is nowhere to put my sharpening steel. Given that a proper knife owner will want to use that each time you grab a knife, having a solution for that would make this totally perfect.Still five stars. The photos just don't do this justice.

Anything that takes up real estate on my kitchen counter has to earn its keep.
I also bought new, specific knives (including 2 cleavers, serrated bread knife, steak knives, 2 paring knives, a Santuko, and Cutco scissors), replacing the big wooden knife block with the many useless knives stored in it. My counter space is less than ideal, and this takes up only 4 or 5 inches and is flush with the wall near the stove. I did have to remove the 8 screws (Allen wrench included) and clean the plexiglass and base which was dusty from packaging. Very easy to do.

Arrived with Stress Fractures Out of the Box TWICE (poor construction)
We were really excited about this knife block having seen it at a friends house. PROS: Our reason for buying it besides aesthetics, was its up-right design which prevents kids from being able to grab anything unlike the typical tilted/canted knife blocks. And due to its size, taking up less space on the counter top.CONS: However, we ordered this item twice and both times it arrived with cracks/stress fractures in flat plastic face at/or near the area where the screws hold the plastic to the wood block. Its definitely a design flaw that is preventable if the right size plastic washer were used preventing the metal screws from putting stress on the clear plastic face. But given the high price tag ($129), that stress fracture is only going to grow worse in short time. Thankfully Rushnet accepted our return both times without issue. But given each time with ordered this it arrived with the same issue, I cant recommend buying this item online again. Maybe in person at crate and barrel or somewhere you can personally inspect it before buying to ensure its not already cracked. Total bummer.....

You’ll be disappointed!
Looks really good but it’s CHEAP!!! The magnets are not strong enough. The knives move all over the place and won’t stay where you want them! It’s a lot smaller than I expected.I bought one and the screws wouldn’t tighten and the magnets were so weak so I returned it hoping I just got a bad one. Nope the second one had the same issue and I returned it and bought the Dalstrong Magnetic block. Now that one is exactly what I was wanting. A little pricier but it’s Quality! Don’t buy this or you’ll be disappointed.

It’s perfect for our needs
We recently invested in several high quality knives, after taking and advanced knife skills class. Loved the knives; tired of using knife sheaths. Shopped around and finally found this product. We love it for its design, its footprint on the counter (minimal space needed), and of course, it’s functionality as a knife holder. Acacia is a soft wood, so knives don’t scratch with repeated removal and replacement. And, the knife edges are 100% protected, so you can’t accidentally cut yourself if your hand brushes against the holder. 5 stars, definitely!
