Second quality, shop local.
Box of paper looks like a second quality product. All pieces of paper came with no adhesive wax paper. All adhesive is exposed, and capable of trash sticking to paper and causing finish issues. Having worked in composite industry for over 30 yrs I’ve never had a box or roll of sandpaper offered in this manner. Do not recommend purchase of this particular product. This is in reference to the 180 grit box I received. The box of 320 grit that was shipped alongwith, was manufactured properly with adhesive wax paper backer. Could’ve bought locally for same price without being sold second quality at full price. Shop local and you won’t have this issue.

Best paper for sanding my log home...hands down!
After going through four other brands of 60 Grit, we decided to purchase the Mirka Gold. We used the paper on an air rotary palm sander to sand our Log Home. I saw an earlier review someone wrote who stated they used it for their log home, so we decided to try it. I couldn't be happier with how this paper performs! It held up six times better than the other brands we used. For every six sheets I used of Nort**, I used one sheet of the Mirka. The finish on our house is INCREDIBLE. Winter has crept in on us, so I finished only 2/3rds of the 3600 sq ft log home, but the Mirka made at least that much possible because I didn't have to stop and change the paper every three minutes. It cuts beautifully, does not clog, did not fray around the edges, and did not gloss. It did exactly what I needed it to do, and quickly. We have about 60 sheets left (I ordered two boxes, expecting to use every last one). My partner does body work as a hobbyist, and the leftovers will be in his shop. I am unsure how it performs on automotive metals, but for a solid pine log home, it was exceptional. I used the 80 grit of Mirka for the Cedar window and garage trim, and it worked beautifully as well.

Have NOW learned what PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) means.
I like the Mirka sanding discs that are the hook and loop type. Had no idea there was another type. Wish there'd been more information about the discs in the initial description...in BIG BOLD letters. I will continue to purchase their velcro discs for my orbital sander and get the 600 grit hook and loop discs, but heavens...using the psa style turned my sander into what resembled a skeet throwing machine. My dogs thought it was a fun, new game I'd created. The four-star rating is because there is nothing wrong with the sanding surface of the disc. And I learned something new.

Good sandpaper
As a cabinet maker I find mirka gold sandpaper to be a very good value. On solid wood I use 80 grit followed by 120.

Durable
Our cabinet shop produces about 5 houses worth of custom cabinets each week, about 50% are face frame style, plus odd jobs and repairs as well. Mirka is the brand of sandpaper we have used for over 20 years because it holds up extremely well and costs less than 3M or Norton.

sand paper disks
I have been using the Mirka brand sanding disks in various grits for a couple of years. I prefer them to any others that I have used. It cuts very well and is even and lasts a long time compared to some others that I have used. If I have a couple of different brands disks around, I automatically grab the Mirka since it works the best.
