Dracula: A Toy Theatre

I had purchased this at least a decade ago, but it got destroyed in a move. I recently took a college class on vampires and decided to repurchase it because I will never not love this combination of Edward Gorey's art and the story of Dracula. It doesn't get any better.

This item was perfect! It arrived in a good amount of time, and was undamaged and unopened. Dracula is my favorite book, and I love Edward Gorey's illustrations, so I was excited to find this item.

I adore this! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the box- though utterly perfect for the pieces as shipped!- is not quite big enough to hold the furniture after it's assembled. Also, I'd have wished the characters were printed on both sides.There are 3 scenes, each with an expanding backdrop, a sheet of various characters (printed on one side), and a sheet of some furniture to assemble. The die-cutting is clean and precise, and goes together easily.Also included is a big folder with a synopsis of each of the acts, giving plenty of room for improvisation- though I think they are likely best used as display pieces.This would be a fun gift for Gorey fans, especially because of the very nice box!

If you love all things Dracula, its a fun piece

I saw the play off Broadway in Philadelphia a long time ago and this brings back memories. I am so glad to have been able to have one for my collection.

Edward Gorey’s Dracula is yours to create in miniature — who can resist? The sets from the play are miniaturized and easy to set up. All of the characters are included as one-dimensional cardboard figures. Not for small children, maybe eight and up up up.

Larger than I thought but magnificent

It was all that I expected of it.

Easy to assemble but still looks amazing. The quality is top notch and this looks great on my desk, would recommend for any theatre fan or model enthusiast.

A beautiful toy theatre, in a very nice box, based on beautiful black and white illustrations. There isn't much to build, but the final product is beautiful and really captures the atmosphere of the book.

Terrific fun. My son spent Christmas day putting this together after playing Harker in the school production.

Ce coffret contient en miniature tous les décors de Gorey pour la reprise de la pièce tirée du "Dracula" de Bram Stoker à Broadway en 1977. On y trouve les décors, accessoires et personnages en carton permettant de monter si on le désire un modèle du décor de la pièce. Personnellement, j'ai préféré garder le coffret tel que.Cette pièce a connu à l'époque un extraordinaire succès et a fait de son interprète principal, Frank Langella, acteur déjà connu et estimé, une star.Il existe également une magnifique édition en anglais du roman, reliée en velours rouge et en noir, illustrée de dessins de Gorey, avec entre autres de petites chauve-souris voletant sur la tranche : avis aux amateurs !
