My Little Pony: The Manga - A Day in the Life of Equestria Vol. 1

Lumsdon's new Friendship is Magic manga manages to perfectly capture the spark of wonder that the first two seasons of the respective show are famed for. The beautiful artwork done by Shiei is an exemplary take on this generation's style and inventive in its own right. To briefly summarize, the work can be described as cathartic, fun, and above all else: magical.Nothing gold can stay, and the official My Little Pony manga is no exception. Volume Three of this series arrives with more of the dark Hasbro meddling that we are familiar with from ruining the greatest show made in our lifetime. I cancelled my preorder the moment that I learned about some of the mandated strong-armed forced-at-gunpoint narrative decisions that ruined My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and killed the magic for more people than it didn't, which are included in Volume Three. I can't on a moral or ethical level recommend that any person continue with this manga series past volume two. The first volume is phenomenal, and would have been even better without Hasbro slaughtering their own golden goose for a 10th time, which an old draft for the synopsis of this volume suggests.

Great addition to her MLP library. I'm sure shell enjoy it.

The manga style artwork is absolutely adorable while being very faithful to the overall tone and feel of the TV show. I don't mind the lack of color as I grew up on manga and have far more black and white comics in my collection than color. My family owns quite a few My Little Pony books with most of them being geared more toward younger kids, but as an adult I think this book really hit the mark with its humor and dialogue that will appeal to all ages. I thoroughly enjoyed this and felt it was worth every penny.

Really liked the charming art style. All the characters were as I remembered them. Especially Celestia. She was quite fun in this one. Really liked when they made good fun of the many tropes in anime/manga at the end of the volume. It was hilarious. Overall the volume was a lot of good light-hearted fun. Just like the animated series itself. Would very much recommend this to any fan of the MLP:FIM franchise.

If you are a fan of MLP FIM season’s 1 - 4 you will love this book. Each “chapter” involves the main 6 and some side characters from the show dealing with day to day life events that happen in ponyvile some storylines are not the ordinary but will leave you smiling as you read along. And it even helps me get my girlfriend to sleep when it comes to story time. A wonderful book and amazing art, best $10 I’ve ever spent.

The black and white artwork is so lively and cute! I love all the cute stories and funny moments! The best My Little Pony merchandise I have ever had the pleasure of gazing upon! Both vol 1 and vol 2 are wonderful trots through ponyville!The artwork -- again.. it is so lively, it's worth the first look for the text, and the second look to gaze at beautiful, cute ponies :)

While the IDW comics of My Little Pony might be better known, this OEL manga deserves a look if you're a fan. The writing is adequate and the jokes work most of the time. The graphic quality is definitely commendable, especially considering the fact that those usually colorful ponies have to be rendered into black-and-white this time. I especially liked the final chapter, which has the characters spoof numerous manga tropes, thanks to some chaotic intervention from Discord.

Something I miss on the newer episodes of the show is the over the top hilarious slice of life focus that used to be part of the first seasons.This book was pretty much that. There is a lot of ridiculous funny moments that just made me laugh out loud, the style is unique and fun.I highly recommend it, and can't wait for the next volumes to be out.

The art and stories are fantastic. Definitely recommend for any mlp fan

Un "manga" qui reprend tous les codes et les bons points des premières saisons de la série.Les histoires sont bêtes et méchantes, mais terriblement efficaces. Les personnages sont travaillés, les dessins adorables, et l'humour... on se retrouve à rigoler bêtement à plusieurs reprises.
