Excellent Story
I bought these for my 8 year old grandson at his request. His teacher had been reading earlier books in the series at school. I have been reading this charming book to him and we are almost done. It is a delightful story, and it is nice to have this kind of enjoyable moment with my grandson.

Third time's a charm!
My almost seven-year-old loves these books, and devoured the first two within a week. She loves to read, but this was the first series that truly captivated her imagination and interest. She insisted on taking the books with her everywhere (I purchased all three in the series). Most evenings, I would sit with her and she would read the story out loud to me (just in case she ran into difficult words), which is how I became familiar with the stories. My daughter thinks the third book is the best in the series and I agree. The story has a lot of suspense in it, and a sense of adventure permeates the story. Annabelle Doll and Tiffany Funcraft are back, and this time the pair are planning some exciting things to occupy themselves while the Palmers go on a two-week vacation. Since the family dog, the Captain is confined to a different part of the house, the dolls have the freedom to do as they please.Well, the arrival of a mysterious package puts paid to the dolls' plans. When they discover what is in the package, it sets Annabelle and Tiffany off on a great big adventure - one that takes them out into the big, wide, world! Soon some of the other dolls join in, and they try to make their way home because they learn soon enough that adventure is all well and good, but nothing beats the security of familiar surroundings, family, and home. This is a great series for young children, and even though it might appeal more to young girls, I think boys might enjoy it too. It has enough adventure and suspense to pique the interest of any imaginative child.

Kids didn't stop talking about this book series!
As a teacher I read this series to my 2nd grade class. I read the reviews (due to the title sounding a little "girly") that boys really liked it. So I purchased it and started reading it and I have to say they LOVED it--All of them. There were times they just couldn't stop talking and trying to figure out what was going to happen next...long after I stopped reading for the day and tried to move on. This make me so happy. Kids talking about BOOKS!

Fortunately, this book is much more about adventures of ...
Throughout the course of the year I have now read the entire trilogy of the Doll People to my 5 year old daughter. She loves it and it is written at a level which is both enriching to her (good vocabulary, character development, and opportunities to make predictions) and engaging to me, which was a huge bonus!I will also mention that my daughter is not a girly girl and has little interest in dolls and dress up. Fortunately, this book is much more about adventures of dolls than dress up and doll play.My teenage girls read the first book long ago and we never followed up with the subsequent books. I have to say that many series start strong and then deteriorate; however, this series improved in the second and third books with many opportunities for excitement and adventure. We are sad to see the end of the trilogy and are now in search of another equally engaging series. Have a fun time reading this with your kiddo!

Deep and rich story
My 6 year old loves these. She moved onto this series after finishing the magic treehouse and then the magic fairies series. These books are probably 3x longer than those. The story is deeper and richer than those others. We find it difficult to find books at her reading level that are not too mature themed. These are perfect. Nothing too scary, but the plots keep her entertained. She gets super excited to read them. And does over and over again.

Just as fun as I'd hoped
This third book in the series begins with a wonderful premise. A very very old package is found in an old toy store, and an honest person mails the Victorian package as it was addressed. As a result, the baby doll which has been missing for more than 100 years arrives to join the doll family!!!Once again, the children in the two doll families (one family of antique Victorian dolls and one equally special family of plastic "Funcraft" dolls) show courage and spirit, taking risks that the adult dolls feel are unwise. The girls' heart-versus-head approach gets them in deep trouble, but in the end leads to a truly happy ending. Love and bravery conquer all! This gorgeously illustrated story will become a beloved family classic. Highly, highly recommended!

Great series for boys or girls
My son was started on this series in school during 2nd grade. Near the end of third grade he is currently rereading the series, When I first bought book one of the series he didn't want anything to do with it. He thought it was for girls. After he got into it in class, he found that it was full of excitement and adventure.

Good series
My 7 and 8 year old grandaughters have loved this series of 3 books of which this is the third. I even read them myself so we could discuss which was good for their comprehension and it is a good series for this. Hope there will be more.

the runaway Dolls...hope to read soon the next one of the saga!
fantastico libro. storia coinvolgente ed illustrazione grafica, sorprendente e divertente. Abbiamo letto, io e mia figlia di 10 anni, i due precedenti e sono altrettanto accattivanti. meriterebbero un film animato.
