Great product for a great price
I have used this daily in a shop setting for a couple months now and so far I haven't found a thing that the mk808 can't do when compared to shops snap on scanner. It really does compete well and for a much more attractive price. The small form factor is excellent for portability and the Bluetooth obd dongle is a must have for me. If you're just starting out as a technician or your a veteran this should fill your needs in a good form factor. If your a diy mechanic and you're curious about learning how to diagnose this is a good starting point but if your just looking for a code reader this may be overkill. Autel sells many products to fit all needs so just do your research. The battery life is pretty decent, i usually only have to charge it once a week when i turn it off after every day of work. The only small con I can find is it is a bit slow when you deviate from the maxicomm program and use Chrome and other apps but is completely usable. You can save scanned results and email them to a customer which is pretty cool. That being said it's a good product, I use it everyday and it fills all the same needs as the shops snap on scanner and I can see why many shops are switching to autel.

User Friendly 7β Touch Screen to View Live Data, DTCs, Hot Services ABS Bleed, Oil Reset, EPB, SAS
I purchased Autel MaxiCOM MK808BT from πΌπͺπ©ππ‘ πΎππ€πππ US for personal use and dealer scanners at shop. πΌπͺπ©ππ‘ πΎππ€πππ US customer service is excellent and quick communication. They responded my pre-purchase questions and prompt follow up after purchase to make sure everything is OK. Autel MaxiCOM MK808BT is Make in China and only purchase from π€πππππππ‘ ππͺπ©ππ€π§ππ―ππ πΌπͺπ©ππ‘ USA πΏπππ‘ππ§ to receive 1-year warranty, 1 Year free software update and required to register your device with Autel ID before using. You can continue to use MaxiCOM MK808BT with the last update software after one year period expire but you might want to consider upgrading every 2 or 3 year to service newer vehicles.Key Features:- Responsive Android based 7β touchscreen tablet with Bluetooth dongle. Scanning and reading is slower than OBDII cable version but Bluetooth adapter is very convenience and able to diagnose from work bench without cable running all over the floor. This is a good complimentary scanner for shop but will not replace dealer scanner or dedicated TPMS scanners.- Good built quality with rubberized grip, hard plastic shell, kick stand and bluetooth dongle holder in the back. However, larger and taller rubber grip would be more useful and easy to grab and protect screen from drop damage.- More internal memory needed for future software update and user data. You can however move some app from main memory to external MicroSD card. Internal free flash drive storage is less than 50% after software upgrade 16.77 GB, and total size 26.83 GB.- Free 32 GB micro-sd card included in the scanner and very useful to backup the Autel Maxisys system (βScanβ data folder is a little more than 16 GB)- One Touch AutoVIN & AutoScan for smart diagnostics work well and tested on Asian, European, and American cars 2004-2019.- ABS bleeding is not available to all cars at least 2004 Mercedes ML350 or W163 2000 ML55. OK to ABS bleeding for 2012 Hyundai Elantra, 2016 Lexus ES350, 2014 Audi A3 and 2010 Honda Civic.- Great tool to reset Mercedes Flexible Service System (FSS), and service interval- Not all hot services SRS, IMMO, Oil Reset, EPB, BMS, SAS, DPF, ABS Bleed and TPMS are available for complete diagnosis and reset functions in routine maintenance. Contact Autel authorized seller πΌπͺπ©ππ‘ πΎππ€πππ US with your VIN# before purchasing the scanner.- Live data OBDII operations in 4 display modes (Analog Gauge, Text, Waveform Graph, Digital Gauge).- Easy to upgrade database and update software via Wi-Fi. Free software and data upgrade only for 1 year but you can still use the last update software after one year free period expire. I would upgrade every 3 or 4 years so I can continue to scan newer cars.- Easy to run, view and print reports for Smog Check OBDII Reference, OBD Test Monitor Readiness Standards and review incomplete readiness monitors for emissions test. Printing and Report only save the current page and you must open individual DTC and save individual pages as PDF file. Default saving location is internal memory. You can copy, and export to external Micro SD card or USB flash drive or upload to FTP, email.I would highly recommend to backup the software and data so you can reinstall and recover software failure. You can easily backup complete data to external USB flash drive or external MicroSD card. You must use 32 GB USB thumb-drive or external MIcroSD card formatted in FAT 32. Make at least 2 backup files before your software subscription expired and run an update before backup. MaxiCOM MK808BT didn't recognize USB flash drive larger than 32GB or NTFS formatting.1. Run βES File Explorerβ software2. Click on βHomeβ shortcut on left side of the screen3. Press and hold βScanβ folder to select then click βCopyβ, then open external-sd or usb_storage drive then βPasteβ the folder to complete the Autel MaxiSYS Data Backup. It took 1hr and 15 minutes to backup a little over 16 GB βScanβ folder.I would recommend Autel MaxiCOM MK808BT from πΌπͺπ©ππ‘ πΎππ€πππ US for more advance user or backup complimentary scanner for shops. Large screen is very useful to analyze and view Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) OBDII and save data file as PDF then upload to FTP, cloud, email, print or save to external MicroSD card, and USB flash drive. Make sure to verify and record Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) before reseting DTC faults/Check engine light. After you reset the codes make sure to perform a basic drive cycle or manufacture recommended methods used by a vehicle's powertrain control module (PCM), repair or replace faulty parts then verify IM Readiness Monitors.Autel MaxiCOM MK808BT is very useful to troubleshot IM Readiness for SMOG check with live data. If your IM Monitors failed after normal basic drive cycles then verify these:* Verify to make sure you have good alternator, battery, and 02 oxygen sensors* Fuel tank between 1/4 and 3/4 full. Your system will not clear IM readiness if you have too much or too little fuel* Mixed driving mode and various stages of the Drive Cycle in the city and freeway for 100 miles between 35 and 55 mph. Do not pass 55 mph. Slow down and stop your car a few times in safe location with wide shoulder lane without using foot brake but you can use hand brake or emergency brake. 10-20 miles βSeveral tripsβ required and let the engine start and stop between testing.* Verify, test and replace weak O2 oxygen sensors and Mass Air Flow (MAF) before swapping catalytic converter. You might have to replaced failed catalytic converter if you hear rattling noise when starting the vehicle, and will get worse over time.* Oxygen Sensors and Catalyst monitors are also not ready, the culprit is most likely a weak battery.* Catalyst monitors are not ready, the culprit is most likely a weak O2 Sensors. Typical error code P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency is below the threshold* AIR (Secondary AIR) monitors are also not ready, the culprit is most likely a weak O2 Sensors.* EVAP monitors are also not ready, check for a loose gas cap. Replace damaged or cracked O ring or replace new gas cap.* AIR (Secondary Air Injection), and EVAP readiness required from COLD start. Keep your car at Parking mode and slowly increase the speed to 1500 RPM for 10 minutes and make sure the normal operating engine temperature is in a range of 195 to 220 degrees Fahrenheit then return to idle at 800 RPM for 1 minutes then press and hold the brake while putting the car in Reverse Gear then accelerated slowly for 40 seconds. Make sure to hold the brake so your car is not moving then change gear to parking mode and shut down the engine. Start engine again to verify the AIR readiness.* Repeat the Basic Drive Cycle multiple time from COLD start in the morning. You might have to drive multiple basic drive cycles of 10-20 miles for a few days for all monitors to ready.

Must have if you do your own repairs
Reads codes beyond basic OBDII code readers to help you troubleshoot issues that don't set a check engine light. Nice case to hold the unit and cables. When disconnecting from the vehicle it gives you an audible alert to remind you to remove the Bluetooth OBDII dongle. Has support for many vehicles. I've used it on 3 late 2000's GM Trucks and 1 early 2000's Lexus. On two of the GMs I was getting a service 4wd message. On the first one the transfer case encoder motor was replaced before the scanner, but I was able to see the fault history of the encoder motor with the scanner, while the second one, which was acting the same way, showed the the 4WD Selector Switch was the issue. On the third GM I was able to see that it was activating anti theft causing a no start. On the Lexus it was an OBDII code for an O2 sensor which you can retrieve with a generic scanner. It has a Shop Manager that allows you to view the history of scans you have performed. Also allows you save PDF reports of the codes scanned. Has limited bi-directional support, but what you are able to scan it is a great value for the money. It take a little bit to get use to navigating but is pretty straight forward once you get use to it.

Very easy to use
This Autel scanner is more than just a code reader. It is a full-size 7 inch tablet that is easy to read and use. The scanner was easy to sync to all three of our vehicles. The vehicles we tested the scanner on were a GMC 2004, Chevrolet 2014 and Pontiac 2003. We found the OBD2 Bluetooth connection works flawlessly on our three vehicles. The icons are all large easy to see and to press without needing to keep going back from pressing the wrong icon. There is a support App connecting you to other customers with similar problems and solutions. The scanner has hand grips on both sides making it comfortable to hold or use the stand to keep it stationary for viewing. The hard case keeps the tablet, OBD2, cords, power plug and manual all safe in one place. The manual is detailed and easy to follow. The brake bleed feature worked great and will save time and money. The scanner also covers all the main service functions such as EPB, TPMS, Oil reset, SAS, Suspension, Throttle, Injector, brake bleed, airbag reset and so much more. Having the ability to order parts as you are working was one feature my husband really liked. Overall, this is a well-designed scan tool and we are completely happy with it.
