Arch Chemical 86223 HTH Spa Cartridge Filter Cleaner, 1-Pint

Although unquantifiable (by us typical consumers), this filter cleaner seems to allow for improved loosening of junk in the filter when getting to the spray down step. I use 1 filter for a full year and I use the spa quite regularly. I use this cleaner 2-3 times per year, when changing the water. Each use requires a full bottle. Once in a while, I spray down the filter with water alone, which helps refresh the filter, but not as noticeably than when using the cleaner. I should point out that buying a new filter (~$30) as opposed to this cleaner (~$20) [prices can get even closer, if you're watching Amazon's fluctuations] can be a better bargain or faster solution depending on your needs. Overall, I find the use of this filter cleaner more of a personal choice for my spa's cleaning ritual, as I lean towards least number of discarded filters and save ~$30/year.

When I ordered this product, the photos appeared to have measurement markings on the bottles which led me to believe that the bottle would be useful for multiple filter cleanings. When I received the product, the instructions call for usage of the entire bottle for one cleaning. At almost half the cost of a new filter, and with the amount work involved to clean a filter, I may opt to just replace my filters in the future.
