"If the product is perfect then why the four stars?"The product itself is exactly as advertised. The only issue is finding somebody to cut it. When you walk in to a store and say "I bought a key from Amazon; will you cut it for me?" get ready to hear "No." No one wants to risk their key cutting machine by cutting a key not provided by them, which is fair. Just take this in to consideration, none of the big box stores or smaller locksmiths in my area wanted to touch this, which is a bummer because I was really excited to give my 2007 Honda CR-V a modern fob.

If you're looking to get this key for your civic like I did then you need to know that the transponder will be too far from the ignition and will cause the immobilizer to activate. The only way to solve this is to desolder the transponder from the board and solder it onto wires and tuck it in the rectangular cutout in the flip key body like I did (refer to pics). If you're unwilling to do this then do not purchase this key

The key fob works great as a flip option to a large Honda key that jabs you in the leg far too often. This is a quality key fob, and moving the RFID from the factory key as well as the transmitter is pretty easy to do.Unfortunately, I have to ding one star because the first fob that arrived was missing 1 screw, the spring, and the blank had already been cut. It was clearly a used fob that got sent back out as new. Either this is an Amazon mistake, or the store just sent it back out as a new one without checking.I received the replacement and refund for the first within a couple of days, had the new fob cut at the locksmith, and the flip fob has been working very well for several months now.

I got them cut and programmed at the Honda dealership. They will turn the truck over but not actually start it. When I put the remote part back into the factory key no issued

The key worked perfectly. I have heard that sometimes, when using aftermarket flip keys, the inmobilizer chip inside the key can end up being too far from the ignition switch which can cause the inmobilizer to not work, thus not allowing you to start the car. In my case, the inmobilizer works perfectly fine on my 2014 CR-Z. If it doesn't work for you, you can desolder the inmobilizer chip from the circuit board and put it in a little cutout that is in the case.I got my key cut at a Honda dealer, they charged me $25.The fit and finish is pretty mediocre. For starters, you have to reuse your plastic buttons and the Honda logo. If either of them is scratched, broken or missing, then this key won't fix that. Plus, one of the screws is underneath the Honda logo, so if your key fob battery runs out, you'll have to peel the Honda logo again, and then stick it back on when you're finished. Pretty bad design there.The plastic feels OK. It doesn't fit too well, there's a 1mm gap between the part that holds the keyblade and the shell. the whole keyblade also wobbles a bit, and you can feel it. Also, mine seems to be missing a bit of chrome trim. It does, however, make for an excellent fidgeting device.

Maybe I misread the description, but the fact that the key isn't interchangeable should be a main point. I thought I'd be able to use my current key, but was answered that the key needs to be cut, as in by a key specialist and that's if they will even risk their machine and won't charge you extra. Great style, sold build and easy go assemble, but the description needs to be more transparent.

Pros: Works as expected, so far 6 months in and still holding up great. Seems like it will outlast the OE Honda key (cracks at the screw easily and comes apart, you know what I'm saying)Not so much but a little con: I went to 3 places Ace, Lowes, Autozone and none of them could cut side keys, like Honda style keys. Went to Honda they cut it with no problems. Used a flat head screw driver to break the transponder out of the OE key on my 2009 Honda Ridgeline, inserted it into the slot in the new key and wallah! Works great! Thank you for making a great product.

The metal pivot hub broke apart (split) on my OEM Honda 2+1 flip key. My family members are as rough as chimpanzees on stuff, and always have been. If you want your stuff broken, give it to them. If you want it preserved, leave it with me. Alas.I ordered this in hopes to save big bucks and do a conversion.Firstly, the key body is slightly bigger than the OEM key. No big deal. I was able to tap out the roll pin in the new key and fit the old key part into the new key with some light filing/fitting of the old key tang, then tapping the roll pin back in.The old key was slightly longer and this required filing the metal frame of the new key to remove probably 1/32" from the cosmetic end of the frame to get the key to close all the way.After that, moving the chip and the button pod over to the new key was simple. I also stuck the H logo in the new spot and it fit perfectly.With a file and a small screwdriver, and 20 minutes of your time you're good to go. No trip to the dealer or locksmith required.

Tengo una pregunta más bien no entiendo si hay que hacer una nueva llave con la llave que trae la carcasa nueva o cómo se instala la llave original ahí no entiendo a ver si alguien me puede ayudar

Buen material, no necesite llevarla al cerrajero... con la lima rebaje la original y qedo perfecto. El material no es el mejor pero es bueno.
