RegattaMens Samaris II Waterproof Walking Ankle Boots

Out of the box comfortable
I hike a bit… Not as much as my girlfriend would like!… but I do hike. For the price these boots are absolutely brilliant, they’re warm yet breathable, waterproof, sturdy and supporting yet also really comfortable and that’s really really unusual in any hiking boot no matter how much money you spend!I’m giving them a personal 9 out of 10… Worth the money if they were twice the price… love em!Now I need to stop because my Girlfriend say’s that I should go for a walk!!!

Comfy walking boots for vegans.
I’m a vegan so when it came time to replace my previous non-vegan walking boots, I wanted something that wouldn’t cost the earth but would also be sturdy and long-lasting. My previous boots cost £65, so these ones (currently £43) are an absolute bargain. Made from polyurethane, polyester and rubber they are lightweight, very comfortable and so far, appear to be waterproof. I've had them for three month now, and use them every day.Well made and very comfy.

Great walking boots
This is the third pair of Regatta Mens Samaris I have owned and the only reason they get replaced is because they get worn out with the amount of mileage they get put through! I left it a few weeks before reviewing to check how they were new out of the box, and I have had no issues with blisters etc as they have been worn in. It takes a little while for them to shape to your feet (as you would expect), but as with my previous ones, these are very comfortable to wear and are not heavy for long walks / hikes. As some of the other reviews mention, there is a bit of a almost film like coating on the sole / tread that needs walking off before their grip really kicks in so the initial walk or too if in wet conditions may not give a true reflection of the boot once this has been worn off. This doesn't take long though and then you have got yourself a great pair of boots at a very good price.

Well worth a punt
So waited 14 months or so to give an honest review. Hate boot reviews after 3 days dog walking. My hobby for tears has been going out into Scotlands big mountains for long days. Over the years I've paid out the big bucks on all the top brands and mostly they haven't let me down. During 1st lockdown I bought these to walk around the houses with all the other zombies as I didn't want to use my good ones about the streets. At first they felt a bit tight but soon loosened off and tbh wire in to super comfy boots. They became a bit attached to me and over the year or so they became everything. I wear them to work 4 days a week and average about 12k steps a day, I have used them to scoot about on my motorcycle and once we got our freedom back they have been up the hills with me. I dont know how many hundreds of miles i have put in them over 14 months but they still have plenty life left i them. I bought another pair as once you find a good thing they change the model. The other pair are patiently waiting in the box still unused in the loft. I look after my stuff and have sprayed and cleaned these regularly with nikwax. I will say they are pretty waterproof to a degree. After a few hours on a particularly wet day they started to let in a bit as I didn't have waiters on but on days like this the big brands mostly do the same. I read a review saying they are sloppy....there is a heavy shine on the sole when new like new car tyres and can be a bit slippy when wet but after a few miles this scrapes off and I can honestly say the grip is great for general use. For the price I paid for these they are incredibly comfortable, resilient hard wearing boots and I am more than delighted with the service they have and still are giving me.well recommended.

A comfortable shoe but disappointing
These boots are well made and extremely comfortableThey are not however waterproofAs we live in a small village the boots are worn everyday whilst walking around the country lanesAnd as mentioned are incredibly comfortableWhat was disappointing was their performance in the rainAnd one ended up walking home with wet feet in soggy shoesThe boots have taken five days to dry and now smell foistyAnd since they live by the door you can smell them when you walk in the houseOne did consider buying a second pairYet the rain has effected ones thinkingA waterproof spray is available for around ten poundsRegatta make their own spray on re-proofer available here on AmazonYet after careful consideration we have purchased Grangers Footwear Repel Plus again available on AmazonGrangers also make a product called Fabsil which is a wonderful water-proofer though silicon basedThe Footwear Repel Plus is water based and suitable for Gore-tex which is akin to Regatta's IsotexBeing water based it still allows the fabric to breathWe shall try the waterproofingAnd hope the smell diminishes before making any decision about repurchaseIf you buy the boots buy the waterproofing too and save the hassle of wet feet and smelly boots
