Fit was perfect, however, type of plastic is not identical (texture slightly more subdued versus original). However, the replacement door was a good replica and functions fine.

First of all, you are purchasing only the door. No hinge pin. No latch spring. No latch. Save these when you remove the old door. You will need a very small Phillips head screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers. I also used a small bladed screwdriver to help me move the hinge pin out a little so I could get a grip on It. Then I wiggled the pin with the pliers toward the top of the camera just enough until the bottom of the door popped out. Then you can remove the door. Remove the pin being careful not to lose the latch spring. Remove the latch from the old door with the Phillips head screwdriver and attach it to the new door. Place the latch spring on the door hinge pin with the correct orientation. Put the hinge pin back into the top hole of the door and set the spring in it’s correct position. Place the door in the channel, slide the pin up until you can put it into position to slide it down through the bottom door hinge hole. Wiggle it down through the hole with the pliers until it stops. You are all done. Just to make sure that the door hinge pin moved easily, I pre-installed it, then removed it before putting it all back together. Hope this helps anyone wanting to replace this door on the AE 1. I don’t know if the same procedure holds true for other similar Canon cameras.This door appears to be an OEM door. That’s all you get, just the door. No hinge pin. No door spring. No latch.

Door doesn’t close or unlatch properly and it cracked the first time trying to get it back open. I was able to shave it down a bit like another review said so it closed easier, but still far from being a fix. I would consider the extra money for an original.

Plastic gets brittle over time, and my battery door finally bit the dust. This replacement worked great! Just remember to save the metal parts from your old door, as they're not included with this part.

The door itself is the correct size and I got it on my AE-1 but as soon as I closed it and it latched, it wouldn’t open back up (I needed it to in order to reinsert the battery). Once I got it open, the clasp that’s on the door that hooks onto the ridge on the camera to keep it closed, started to come off and now the door doesn’t shut at all. Looks like I’ll have to use electrical tape to keep the door closed after all. Not worth it.I took pictures to include with my review but Amazon is being a pain and not letting me include them.

Fits perfectly, no issues at all. Low price and got the job done!

Matches the camera well. Excellent replacement.Installation was pretty straightforward. Be sure to save the little clip/latch from the old door. Moving the hinge so that you can remove the old door and install the new one is a bit of a pain, but a pair of small needle nose pliers did the trick for me.
