I'm not a professional artist, but I AM a professional shopper of art supplies - according to my Husband The Complainer - and all I can say is that I'm halfway through my first pastel work (see attached photo of "Snakey") and I LOVE these Pan Pastels. From what I understand, everyone who uses them loves them, and my little review is hardly necessary. I CAN say, however, that I have used them also for polymer clay, and I can speak to their wonderful qualities in that field, having had an amazing experience with them for over 20 years now. You can use Pan Pastels on uncured (preferred) clay, and NEVER worry about it not working - it will stay put through any sort of condition you can imagine. It survives through the baking process, even multiple bakings, and looks as fresh and beautiful as it did when you first applied it, the same as it does when you apply it on Pastelmat when using it for artwork (as in Snakey). I don't consider myself an "artist," but I'm having a ball using these. I know they're expensive, but they're actually NOT when you think of how little you use at a time. Compared to pastel sticks, you are using barely a fraction of the amount. If you take the time to compare the two, you will see. The results with Pan Pastel, however, are worth the investment, no matter the cost, though, if results mean anything to you. And they should.

Love the color for making blush on my felt softies! Only issue is that it came broken so I have to make sure I open it over something that won't stain.

These little gems are so much fun to create with. They are so smooth and vibrant. They are great to use for all stages in your creation from 1st layer to final layer. They work nicely with all of my other chalk pastels. If you need to amp up your darks however, I feel I do need to apply my other pastels to give it that little extra contrast. Although the price tag is high, they will last a long long time. Just like all art supplies, you get what you pay for and I would highly recommend these.

This blender is great, did a portrait of baby this blender was great it smoothed the skin out just right.

I can use this on its own or over the top of other colours creating a lovely gently sheen. I love the Panpastels.

Pan pastels are the best!! They make colouring look more professional and are perfect for skin and hair and animal fur
