It’s a Marine Band, what could go wrong?!
Hohner Marine Band in F# review:I wanted an F# to complete my diatonic harp collection, I did a search on Amazon and a Marine Band in F# popped up, so I figured why not?! All my harps are Special 20, Crosssover, Thunderbird, Blues-harp, Seydel, Lee Oscar, & Suzuki and Kongsheng, So now I have an actual Marne Band, and it plays and sounds great. Although since it’s F# (which used to be highest pitch harp available) it can get shrill, and you’ll be calling Dogs all over the neighborhood. Think of Huey Lewis’ harp on ‘Heart of a Rock and Roll’ (Huey used an F harp on that one) and then imagine it a 1/2 step higher, you get the idea. The only harp I own that’s higher is a lee Oscar in High G. Be careful with that thing!!!

I bought it to complete the set!
There were a couple of necessary harps not included in the 5 piece set I bought. This one arrived quickly and I was able to use it at a gig right away. Is as advertised. Works great!

Awesome harp!
I've been playing sax semi professionally for 50 years and recently decided to add harmonica to a particular song. I had dabbled with harp previously, but never felt comfortable. It took me a while to spend nearly $40 for a harp when there were so many at under $10. I'm so glad I did. It is amazing how much better this one sounds and how much easier it is to play versus cheaper ones I've owned. You do get what you pay for! My debut went great and I have since bought three more in other keys.

nice harmonica
Not my favorite line from Hohner but definitely a good one! It's fairly easy to bend notes, which I would recommend to beginners . In my opinion ,and compared to all my other harmonicas (12 total), this has its place; nice tone for certain types of music, which I would say jazz, folk, classic, bar & some blues

It is a Hohner Marine Band harmonica - of course it is great.
I am switching to a more professional harmonica and chose the Hohner Marine Band 1896 as my instrument. There are pros and cons of each Hohner harmonica. I've found so far, for me, a wood comb is OK.This harp is no easier or harder than other quality harmonicas. Very cheap harmonicas can be hard to learn because they leak too much air. These higher quality German made harmonicas do not leak air.
