Not only wider but a lot thicker than others I've used. It will still open up the holes or bunch together if pulled too tight, esp if used on fleshy body parts but it takes more to make that happen. Overall it's the most durable rolled gauze I've used and the width offers great coverage. I even use it for other non-medical applications.Downside: it doesn't stick to itself so you need to tape it or tuck it. It can also be warmer since its thicker which can be + or - depnding on weather.Note size difference in pic. 1 pack of 6 rolls is twice the size of a box of 12 4" rolls from other brands. This has 8 packs (48 rolls total).

I had to return because I bought the wrong size. I tried to make it work, but I need to order the 4 inch, but it is nice gauze. It is very thick and soft.

Came with a strong horrible chemical odor. Can not use this on a sick person! Called Amazon to inform.
