Delighted with sound quality and fit, volume must be high to hear proper bass
The bone conduction technology is meant to increase the level of bass, by creating small vibrations when there's a strong bass note or tone. However, firstly, the vibrations barely increase the bass. It's nothing like proper bass played through an in-ear earphone and whether this technology actually creates more bass, I can hardly notice it. Bass does increase with increased volume, so perhaps the technology is needed merely to increase the amount of bass proportionate to the increase in volume. Secondly, the vibrations only kick in after volume reaches about 60-70%. Again, if this is how it works, then it's working as intended. But don't expect any notion of bass akin to wearing an in-ear earphone - that said, it does create a level of bass akin to a non-in-ear earphone.Moving to sound quality, it's excellent. Imagine having two tiny speakers playing music close to your ears. This is what these are. Consequently, the sound is airy and open. When wearing these on bike rides, I often increase the volume to compensate for wind or traffic noise. With increased volume comes the vibrations. I don't find them uncomfortable at all - just something to get used to. The blocks that touch your cheekbones also tend to get warm on higher volumes, but it never feels uncomfortable. The Minis fit my head perfectly. The distance between my ears was 0.2" more than the recommended threshold for Minis, but they fit. When positioned so the neckband is about 20° below horizontal to my head (Photo 1), there's about 2-3mm of a gap. This gap increases the more angled down it is; at a guess the Minis will probably fit if your distance is up to 0.5" more than the threshold, though you may need to wear it at a lower angle (which is normal anyway, going by my own use of it - see Photos 2 & 3 - and Aftershokz's model wearers). I measured mine using the Trekz sizing tool: us.aftershokz. com/pages/size-chart - cut it out and measure the horizontal distance between the points where your ears join your head - mine was 8.2". Photo 4 is simply to help you with sizing your head for the Mini - you can't wear it like this, as it drops down to Photo 1's position pretty instantly. These Aftershokz are not, I assume, meant to be worn with a collared jacket. They slip between the collar and my neck when I wear them over my Berghaus jacket and then lean my head forward, like when in the supermarket looking at items on the lower shelves. I need to sort of shift them back up by shuffling my neck a bit. Walking normally with my head straight, though, they stay in the same position. I could not wear them angled down with my jacket, as they constantly feel pushed-forward. Without any collared jacket, though, you can wear them however you like, but when running, they'll eventually get pushed into an angled-down position if initially pushed up more horizontally. The way the earpieces are shaped in a curved right-angle mean it'll give the same comfort level at any angle it sits in. On a side note, the neckband design of the Trekz Airs looks like it'll give a better fit as it's more tucked-in, but they're much too expensive for me, and I estimate any changes in sound quality to be unnoticeable as it's sitting so far away from my eardrums. These definitely fit the purpose for which I bought them. This is to hear people, traffic and other environmental sounds while exercising. And I can hear everything. Here's one example: I was running along a section of road, on the edge of the oncoming (right) side. This section had roadworks, so cars from the incoming (left) side were using the oncoming lane - the one I was running on. I ran past the lights when they were RED, so was not expecting any cars to come behind me. Guess what? A car came behind me. If I was wearing in-ear earphones, I would not have heard the car, and it would have surprised me a lot given I was not expecting one to drive past. It would have also come very near to me. With the Aftershokz, I heard the car accelerating in good time, and had several seconds to hop up onto the pavement. The car's sound was enough to detect despite the ambient noise from the rainy weather, my breathing and my trainers hitting the wet pavement. Volume was on about 50%.Now when cycling, I tend to need the volume higher because of the much increased wind noise, but when it's on about 80%, it can drown out traffic noise. You'll probably hear the whoosh of air as a vehicle goes past you, but not if it's 20-30 metres behind you. I therefore keep the volume about 50-60%, and put up with the music being quieter due to the wind. Otherwise, putting it up to such a level that drowns out the environment voids its purpose. Finally, I would prefer a larger battery life. I think that a lot of the battery is used to power the vibration. On higher volumes, therefore, I'd expect the battery to drain slightly more quickly than you'd expect it to. Regardless, I'd prefer if the battery lasted 1-2 hours more than the 4-5 hours I normally get. It's a very worthy investment. I initially saw Aftershokz on a Strava ad about 3 years ago, and was immediately sceptical. They seem to the only ones Strava advertises. Now I know why - because exercising with earphones is not supported by any sports organisations. I also know that they are very decent, as well as safe, and that, according to magazine reviews, they've improved a lot over previous generations. I frequently use mine around the house as well, and when outside shopping, as my ear's are free to hear voices.I hope this review helps - if it was useful, I'd much appreciate a 'Helpful' vote. Thanks!PS. I also wear glasses and the arms sit absolutely fine and securely on top of the Aftershokz ear-bands. It makes it a little bit easier for them to slide forward, but even on cycle rides with my glasses worn like this, they've never loosened and if they have moved forward on their own accord, it's been unnoticeable - maybe 1-2mms at most.

Great design, very comfortable and practical
I have the ear canals of an infant, or so it seems. They're a bookend for my tiny, enormously wide feet which fit no human shoes.I can't use ear buds except for a specific line from Etymotic. They are noise isolating, which is great, but they are painful to remove (negative air pressure pulling on my ear drum) and they also cause the inside of my ear canal to itch from an allergy to the memory foam inserts. So, I was very happy to discover these the other day. They don't go in your ears at all. They sit in front of your ears. They don't sound incredible like my big velour Sennheisers, but they're portable and comfortable enough that I forget I'm wearing them. They allow for a big brimmed sun hat because the band goes behind the head. The sound is very private. Someone standing immediately in front of you can't hear a thing from them.Awesome for dog walking. You can hear everything happening around you, talk to passersby without painfully yanking out your ear drum first, and answer phone calls without digging out your phone. There's physical buttons for volume and to pause and resume play. Double click the play/pause button to skip ahead. They do fight for room on top of my ears with my glasses, but it's not too bad. You cannot wear them while lying down in bed. I got the "mini" size, which I think is like a women's size.Battery life is impressive.I'm posting all this hoping somebody else finds these interesting or useful.
