I love the way it's organized by topics
I love the way it's organized by topics, and each page is one topic w/ a list of conversation stimulating questions. Many of the English teaching question/conversation books are scripted conversation, so it doesn't promote thinking. I like the questions, and I like the fact that I can use it for any level English learner. There are some low level questions, and high level questions; nice mix

This is a great book to have when choosing discussion topics. Often I would look through magazines or recent newsarticles for discussion topics, but wanted to stay away from things that may offend or single out any of my students. This is a great book for those teaching conversational English.

Loads of interesting questions that we can use as ice-breakers. Categories are so varied that we can always find something that relates to the topic we are studying or the topic at hand. Students answer them orally (and in writing if so desired) and then carry on short actual conversations with each other. It was delightful to hear students from India ask a student from Japan about eating sushi.

ESL/ESOL Conversation Starters Available At Your Fingertips
This book is a solid choice for teachers searching for conversation starters for ESL/ESOL students. According to the author there are actually 1,436 questions over 134 separate topics. (I took the author at his word and did not count these myself.) I recommend educators taking the time to mark or highlight questions they believe will be useful for teaching before actually implementing its use.

Good book, however they could double the amount of questions. There is a lot of empty space at the bottom.

I like the questions and the alphabetical arrangement of topics
I like the questions and the alphabetical arrangement of topics. However, the questions are very culturally biased to American values. A number of the topics have 'value-related' questions that are unfathomable to Asian cultures.

A Must-Have Resource for ESL/EFL Teachers!
The "1,000 Conversation Questions" book is an absolute gem for anyone teaching ESL or EFL! As an educator, I’ve always found it challenging to keep my students engaged in conversation practice, but this book has completely transformed my teaching experience. Each question is thoughtfully designed to spark interesting and meaningful discussions, making it easy for students of all levels to participate. The wide range of topics ensures that there’s something for everyone, whether your students are beginners or more advanced. I love how the questions encourage not only speaking but also critical thinking, helping students to expand their vocabulary and improve their fluency in a fun and interactive way.One of the best features of this book is its versatility. I’ve used it for group activities, pair work, and even one-on-one sessions. It’s also incredibly useful for filling in those extra minutes at the end of a lesson or for warming up at the beginning. My students are always eager to see what the next question will be!If you’re looking to enhance your ESL/EFL classes with engaging and effective conversation practice, this book is a must-have. It’s well-organized, easy to use, and a fantastic resource that I know I’ll be using for years to come. Highly recommended!

Very useful book
I loved this book, it helped me a lot to practice my English speaking and understanding. The best way to study English is talking. I passed some days just asking and answering myself and that's interesting questions. I recommend.

Muy útil aunque básico
Su uso resulta muy cómodo para complementar clases o crear una clase completa.Son temas muy fecuentemente utilizados, nada novedoso. Sirven para clases de A1, A2 y quizás para grupos de inicio de B1
