Wiebe Beaver knife

I have a couple of these knifes that i have used over the years made by another company.This knife came sharp straight out of the box, carbon steel blade will patina with use and gain character. The blade is easy to maintain. Not prone to rust if you season it time to time w/ a light oil.The design lends its well to the kitchen as well as the outdoors. The thin bladeIs perfect for processing meat and fish. It is perfectly capable of any serving as a belt knife once you have a sheath made for it. It is lightSo easy to carry.Holds and edge (fart!!)well and easy to sharpen.This knife isnt the coolest knife ever hung on a belt or revealed around the camp fire but as a practiced and accomplished woodsman i can say it is worth having.My suggestion, for the price is to buy two- one for the kitchen. One for the belt. A leathersmith can make a sheath and you will be set.It doesnt have a point which is a draw back for feild use but dont let that be a deal breaker. (Carry a pocket knife) most of us do.This is a tested knife well worth the price.

I’ve been skinning with a beaver knife for over 42 years. I’m old school so when I made a shift to go with the wiebe scalpel it was a bit of getting used to. I received my wiebe beaver knife and unboxed it today. I hand sharpen all my knives like I said the old school way and I test them by shaving hair off my arm. I unboxed the wiebe beaver knife and shaved with it instantly when I fully expected to put a stone to it. Thank you Wiebe for being the benchmark of the industry. Many many vendors who have goods on Amazon can take a lesson from you.

A good value, haven't used it for actual skinning, but it sure has the feel and appearance of an efficient tool.

Super sharpe holds edge well

Good for the money.Just keep a steel in one hand and the knife in the other.
