Great Pickups
I rolled the dice on these hoping for the standard Aguilar tone and they delivered. I wanted something a little less bright than the 60's Fender P pickups and these are exactly that. They're nice, warm, round sounding pickups. Very balanced across the strings.

Will increase your Fender Precision tone for the better
I've been a gigging musician for 50 years and currently own 11 bass guitars. I have a made-in-Mexico Fender Precision bass and while its original pickup was satisfactory, I'm also a big Aguilar fan and so decided to modify my bass somewhat. I ordered the Aguilar AG 4P-60 pickups as well as a Fender HiMass bridge. The addition of both modifications made a substantial difference in the tone of the instrument. Because this is a passive bass, I also purchased an Aguilar DB-925 preamp for my pedalboard and now my Precision is the equal in volume and tone of any of my active basses. The Aguilar pickups are a little bigger than the stock pickups, but that was merely a matter of using different screws when installing the pickups in the bass cavity.I highly recommend the pickups, as well as the HiMass bridge and the preamp. Buy them all and you'll have a bass that will quickly become your favorite, if you have more than one.

Not is described
There are two issues with these pickups. The first is the wire leads are not cloth covered as listed. These are cheaper vinyl covered and see to be very thin wire. Secondly, these are wired differently than what is shown in the factory diagram. I could not be sure about the polarity because of this. Also, it would be helpful if a proper diagram was included rather than having to download from Aguilars website. To make matter worse, I did contact Aguilar about these issues and after 4 weeks and sending pictures, I have only received an "we will get back to you" type of email. I returned these and purchased Fender.

True P bass sound...
Pleasantly surprised by these. I have two sets and they are perfect for nailing that classic P bass sound. The outstanding feature for me was the E string tone...I can't really describe it except to say it sounds a little more defined and punchier that other vintage pups I've tried. If you've ever experienced trying to get more volume or clarity from the E string on a P, raised the pickup but only got more distortion you might understand. Build quality is good, nice vintage look and extremely low noise. Pricey but darn good pups.

Great 60's tone but you should also consider...
Good fat 60's tone; my 2nd place favorite after the Bill Lawrence hand-built pickup which is the all-time best: authentic vintage tone with a tighter bottom end (and a bargain at $65).Bill's pickups are actually sold under the name Wilde Pickups, as he lost the right to use his own name a while back (what a rip-off!) Bill has sadly passed away now, but his family is continuing the business. All Wilde pickups sell for less than the major manufacturers high-end range and the boutique guys. Nice job Aguilar, but at $100 vs Bill's $65, well........

Great sounding pickup!
I took a gamble when I ordered these based on the Aguilar brand name. Previously I had purchased an Aguilar Filter Twin pedal which sounds phenomenal and is built like a tank, so I had some trust that this pickup would sound fantastic as well. Before and after I purchased the pickup I had contacted Aguilar through email asking various questions about how it sounds and also about installing the pickup and they were super helpful and quick to respond every time I had a question. The pickup came in a tiny box and was nicely packaged. The wiring was excellent and came stripped and pre-tinned for soldering which made them even a little bit easier. There was a diagram in the box with the wiring instruction that was easier to follow and made installation a snap. The pickup itself sounds amazing. I installed them in a MiM Fender 50's Classic P and while it sounded good with the stock pickup after installing the new pickup it was like someone took a wet blanket off of the sound of my bass. The highs are articulate and the lows are deep while remaining tight and clear. The midrange cuts through rather nicely and the sound is everything that the customer service rep had explained to me through our email conversations. I do wish Aguilar had sound clips on their website of their pickups. I would have purchased this pickup a lot sooner if I could have listened to it before making my purchase.Overall this was a great purchase and now I'm looking into purchasing the rest of an Aguilar rig to go with it.

Clean Sound.
I have replaced the Fender Standard Precision Bass (Mexico) pickups with them. They are both sounds pretty different. With AG 4P-60 sound became: more clean, higher tone, less wooden and a bit less volume. I like it!
