A Walk to Wisdom: 31 Days Through the Proverbs

I was so excited to receive this book of wisdom. Before purchasing, I had reviewed it & liked the way it was formatted: (1) you can study one chapter of Proverbs each day & repeat it each month; (2) it has a page for notes; and (3) provides reflection questions. HOWEVER, when I received the book, I was shocked at how SMALL the print font is for this book. In addition to that, the print is LIGHT. So, the combination of SMALL font & LIGHT print, makes it almost impossible that I can even use this otherwise wonderful book. I am a passionate reader & have many books. I must say that I don't have even one book that uses a print font that is anywhere close to being this SMALL or LIGHT. I hope the publisher of this book reads this review & will consider publishing a new edition using a "normal," more readable font using darker ink. I am extremely disappointed!

Total ripoff - simply puts several Proverbs on a page with an area to write your own notes. ANYONE can take the bible and put it on paper and allow YOU to interpret. Ridiculous "book"!

I've purchased Trog Trogden's book, "A Walk to Wisdom" on Amazon. This is the book of Proverbs out of the Bible with discussion questions. The cover is soft back and beautiful. There wisdom in reading a Proverb a day. I give this book 4/5 stars because it's good. The wisdom of Solomon applies to business, finances, relationships, sexual purity, parenting, marriage and law. The book of Proverbs reminds the young leader that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.The reason, I don't give "A Walk to Wisdom" perfect score, because there isn't a whole lot of additional commentary or new contribution. This book is basically the book of Proverbs with discussion questions. For a good study Bible with commentary notes, one could go further with reading the ESV Study Bible. However, the simplicity of "A Walk in Wisdom" could be good for one's son who doesn't like books. In fact, I would recommend this as a graduation gift for a high school student. For the child who is too attached to their screen, they could learn from Solomon's words: To know wisdom and instruction,To perceive the words of understanding, To receive the instruction of wisdom,Justice, judgment, and equity;To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion." (Proverbs 1)The discussion questions are good. I do recommend this book for the new believer or for an older believer like myself who can never get too much of the wisdom of Proverbs. Trog is a man of integrity who is truly impacting his community in Dallas. He is pouring into the lives of fatherless men and equipping them with God's word and leadership skills. All proceeds of this book after publishing costs will go back into the ministry of HIS Bridge Builders.

I really love the way the text is formatted. The overall structure is great. However, I ended up tearing out all the work book pages. For me, they were just kind of in the way. Still a 5 star product.

Having the questions at the end of each chapter helps hold you accountable to read every day, however, they were the same questions for each chapter. If you don't have the desire to keep your own journal this is a good supplement. I would not use it for a group study though.

Just what I was looking for. I'm happy.

Its a good read for daily devotion. Its still good even though I expected something different.
