This is the one…
Put the 8.5” smoked Flare on the Reckless fairing, on my 2021 Road King Std. I went through a few cheap Amazon shields, to get the height and style right before I invested in a higher end shield. I’m 6’0” and this one is perfect for me. I can see over it, like it’s not even there. I have no buffeting whatsoever, and all wind is diverted around me or over my head. The design outperforms even taller shields I’ve tried. And it also looks bada$$. Everything lined up perfectly, for the Reckless fairing I ordered the 96-2013 fitment. Reckless offers this shield as an option to the silly one that comes with the fairing, but I didn’t select it so I had to figure it all out on my own. I guess they know what they’re doing. This is about the highest rated curved shield out there, and now I know why. Good luck with yours.

Just buy it
These shields are not cheap for a reason...They work! I went from a cheap 5" shield to a 6.5" Klock Werks and I can't feel the wind, even at 80mph. I'm 5'9" and the shield sits just below my line of sight.

perfect windshield for my stratoliner
Fits perfect on my 2009 Yamaha Stratoliner which I had ordered the Fairing from USA trailer store. Thought the 11 inch would be to tall.. I am only 5'6" but my bike sits low so the top of the windshield is right at my eye level... the new fairing and windshield makes my cruiser look so much different and better looking. I can now ride with the half face German helmet and riding is so much more fun being able to get up to higher speeds with no wind blowing in your face and not having to wear a full face in this heat.... up date... this windshield is by knock

GREAT windshield if your over 6 ft tall
Hey I read all the reviews like everybody else. I installed this 8.5 on an 07 electra. It replaced my 7inHD screen. Well after about a week I've decided to resell the thing. I am 5'10" and it is too tall. I have to sit straight up to see over the top, no slouching! I did not call the mfg. to see that they measure this differently than Harley does. A 7inHD is measured from the center hole to the top of the screen, that makes a 7in windshield, yep 7in. Amazing. At klockwerks they measure from the center of the hole to the height of the screen which is about 8.5 inches. Problem, if you measure this as you would an HD screen it measures 9.25 inches, thats 3/4in taller already. I added a piece of cardboard to my original to make sure I could see over the additional 1.5in, no problem. More importantly this windshield is actually about 2.5 in higher than the original HD windshield in vertical height, getting close to a 10in. All this means is that I can not see the last 25ft or so in front of the bike without having to look thru it, or sit up straight, and that's a safety issue in my opinion. I can not make a last second adjustment in direction if I miss something on the road, like a pothole! It does fit nicely over my 3 HD screen bags like they say, and it does cut down on the wind buffeting like they claim, but I can not over look the fact that I have to look thru it and not over. Oh and Klockwerks was nice enough to recommend that I cut new holes in the bottom side in order to drop it down to keep the original contour but then I would have to remove the 3 windshield bags. I don't want to do that either, that's where I keep my stuff. So final words.... Ok for someone over 6 ft tall, if not? Don't do like I did. Your not going to want to keep it. ;(

Great fit.
I added this to my 2013 HD Street Glide. Installed in minutes and reduced the wind and buffeting by 80%. Now I can hear my stereo which is a nice change. I'm 6'0" and look right over the top of the shield which eliminated all bugs, road dust and rocks from hitting my face. Very happy with the quality and looks of this Windshield. I would not recommend going any taller then 8.5 inches if you are under 6"0" tall. Hope this helps with your next purchase. I also have the three pocket T-Bags pouch which fits with this shield.

It's great! It was difficult to find definitive info on ...
I bought this to replace the stock 4" windshield on my FLHX. It's great! It was difficult to find definitive info on height recommendations and the height measurement instructions require 2 people, string/level and a ruler. I had a hard choice between the 6.5 and 8.5" windshields. I'm 5' 10" and ride a lot on highways and interstates. Most reviews that listed a personal height were 6' tall. I needed a windshield to move the air stream from hitting directly in my face and side buffeting from on my ears. I use a Mustang Wide Vintage seat on my bike which does not sit me as low or back as others seats might and I'm glad I chose the 8.5". I see easily over the top of the windshield (which I prefer) and it moves the air stream over my head. It has also reduced the side air buffeting by 80-90% so I can now hear my radio while on the road. It also looks good on my bike. If you want to look through the windshield go with a lighter tint. The Dark Smoke is difficult to see through at night.

Klock Werks installed & ready to ride.
The windshield was just as described, wrapped up well and a perfect fit.

It's tall. And protects you well. I'm 6'2 and it deflects the wind over top of my helmet. I can hear the stereo better also. It doesn't look as cool as the 8.5 inch one. But it's not bad either. Mini wind jammer.
