Good controller and harness. Easy peasy plugged right in worked perf for my trailer. Make sure you can access the bracket screws on either side where you decide to mount it. I’m dead center under steering wheel on the metal framing in my Sierra and have perfect visibility and access.

Don't skimp, get a Tekonsha, you wont be sorry
I've installed several Tekonsha controllers before, and I refuse to use anything else. I fought the old school "dumb" controllers for a while and they are not only more trouble than they are worth, they are outright dangerous most of the time, my opinion is that non-inertial controllers should be banned, because they don't work well even if you use them right, and many people don't even do that... Once you set these controllers correctly, they work almost like magic, no jerking, no lag, no over application, no under application, they just work.I've used the P2 in several trucks and could not be happier. I decided to go with the P3 this time because of the ability to store settings for different trailers. I pull several different trailers and they all have different base settings, which is a little annoying at times, and for about $15 extra bucks, why not.Install was a snap, about 5 minutes for me, but I've installed these many times and I'm a professional mechanic, so this is about as basic as it gets for me. Typical install for most is about 15 minutes. It's 2 self tapping screws to mount the included bracket and 2 screws to mount the unit. I don't take the unit out, so the quick bracket was not useful to me, but it mounts the same way. Best place I've found for mounting is the steel support under the plastic panel under the steering wheel. You can mount it just about anywhere along that rail as you see fit, but I have found that right over the throttle pedal is the best for me. It's visible, easy for me to reach and it never get in my way there. Where exactly you decide to put it is up to you, just make sure it's where you can see it easily and reach it to adjustments and for emergency application. I toyed with a few other locations, but there's really no where else that I thought was better, so there it went. The included harness fit perfectly and everything worked. Note, all GM trucks require you to add the 30 amp FMX fuse to power the trailer completely, sometimes the controller socket is populated (it should be with a towing package), sometimes it's not. You also need a second fuse to populate the constant power feed to the trailer (for charging the breakaway battery and other accessories, if equipped) as that one is never populated. These fuses are about $4 at your local parts store, get an extra and toss it in the glove box just in case. After setting this up and driving with my trailer for a while, I can say this works as it should. As with all controllers, you have to play with it to find where the trailer likes to be, once I got it set, I just drove, no fuss.

Highly configurable and easy to install
I have used these for many years. I tow open car trailers, cargo trailer and a large 5th wheel. It is easy and fast to adjust it for these variable loads.

Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller
Bought this to help with towing my 4200 pound camper. The hookup was very easy just a plug and play type of connection since my truck was already wired for it. I recommend doing the test to see what level you should set the brake at or you will find out like I did that you have it set too high and come to a stop rather quick when it wasn't needed. The multiple levels of boost for the brakes also comes in very handy to give my truck a help in stopping quick when needed. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an easy brake controller that installs in less than 10 minutes and is ready to use. Very satisfied with it so far and I have gone over 1000 miles with my camper since purchase in late July. Only thing I don't like is that it stays on after you shut the vehicle off for 15 minutes. There should be a way to shut it off completely.

Great product and easy to install. Works great for my 5th wheel trailer
I would have given this 5 of 5 stars, but they sent me the wrong wiring harness. It should have been for a Chevy Silverado, but it came with one for a Nissan. So, I had to go buy the plug and play harness.

Everything we expected and more...
First of all, I don't normally write reviews unless they are really, really good or really, really bad. This product is fabulous, and the seller is top notch. We ordered this before we took our new RV out on our maiden voyage. I was worried it wouldn't arrive in time for my husband to install it. He called the seller and they assure it would come earlier than the date Amazon had specified. It actually even showed up EARLIER than the sales associate had told my husband! Made it to Oregon in about 2 days!Hubby said it was super easy to install in our '03 Chevy Silverado Duramax. He says it works fantastic and exactly like it says it should. High quality brake controller for the price.

LOVING THIS CONTROLLER!
I bought this brake controller for my 2004 GMC sierra 3500.The plug and play was insanely easy! Plugged it in and it worked like a hot damn right away! Then went through the manual and did what it said to figure out braking for my 14k dump trailer. This brake controller works perfectly! I would highly recommend it!
