Cooking with the Seasons at Rancho La Puerta: Recipes from the World-Famous Spa

I bought this cookbook after eating at a friend's house in San Diego last summer. I came home to Japan and tried the recipes using ingredients I could buy here. It worked! I make the corn salad with daikon instead radishes or the salsas with local chiles instead of Mexican chiles. The recipes are healthy but more than that they delicious and present beautifully.

I have only tried one recipe so far, but it is beautifully produced. I will try others in the future.

I went To The Ranch a few years back, I wass very impressed with the quality of their food . I got inspired and wanted to learn some recipies. I am glad I got this book.

Enjoyed the delicious meals at the Ranch. Happy to "bring the Ranch home" as they say. These recipes are easy to follow.

There are not many ingredients Imcan easily put my hands on here. Nice book,but I won't make anything and will give it to the library for their sale

I picked this book up after trying a recipe that had been featured in a magazine and was not disappointed. The recipes are fabulous and the book itself is beautifully written and illustrated.

Replacing an old fave cookbook from the days when I visited this excellent spa.

I have other spa cookbooks including Rancho La Puerta Ckbk (by Bill Wavrin) and The Golden Door Cookbook and enjoy using them; however this one I am finding a little disappointing... Some of the ingredients aren't as familiar (ie. 'farro' ) although sustitutes given, so perhaps it's just about being open-minded to try something new. On a positive note, I do like that this cookbook offers seasonal menus and although some recipes do have a longer list of ingredients, the finished result may well be worth the effort.Lastly, visually this cookbook very appealing.
