No muss; no fuss; can buy in bulk; works great
Single-serving descaler was easy to use, and we cycled one packet's treated water through two coffee pots and the water kettle with great results. No one in town sells any descaler anymore, and the pots were getting pretty crusty! I wanted a year's supply in one shipment. DeLonghi smells mildly of vinegar, nothing nasty. Humorous part is the square-mile of instructions in bazillions of languages in every 2-pack; I cut out the English set and saved it in a plastic baggie, for future reference.

The worst part of having an Espresso machine is the deep cleaning - At around 30 - 40 minutes cleaning.
