Great Value, Good Quality, Meh Quality Control
The media could not be loaded. So, I'll echo the concerns from other people about the length of this dipstick. Like others, the spring on mine was too long and it was reading WAY overfull. Comparing it to my stock dipstick, it was about a quarter inch too long. However, the fix is quite easy, as the spring is held in my a 1.5 allen head/hex head screw. I unscrewed it, removed the spring, and measure the quarter inch, which lined up with the gap where the screw had been threaded through. I simply snipped off the extra length, re-inserted the spring, measured it against the stock unit, and tightened the screw. The oil level read accurately after this and it felt much more secure when inserting and removing as opposed to the OEM dipstick. Ironically enough, this same length issue has been a common complaint with the $70 Cravenspeed dipstick as well.In terms of build quality, this unit feels very well-made. It is functionally identical to the Cravenspeed unit, featuring the same style of spring, a painted metal head with o-rings spaced identically to stock, and a metal tip with 9 holes as opposed to 10 (I re-counted after my video). This may bother some people, as the pictures show 10 holes. However, since this tip is already longer than OEM, I think the reduction of holes is just common sense, as it already shows you more level information than the OEM item while reducing the chance of contacting the bottom of the pan. The entire assembly is quite a bit heavier than stock, which allow you to simply let it drop into the tube with gravity, maybe giving a slight wiggle to get it past the bends.Overall, I'd say this unit makes buying the full-priced Cravenspeed dipstick completely pointless. Someone obviously did their homework in reverse engineering the Cravenspeed dipstick and while there seems to be some quality-control issues in terms of spring length, Cravenspeed has multiple complaints of the same problem at over double the price. Even if this item is overlong most of the time, picking up a 1.5 allen key, a tape measure, and a pair of wire snips costs way less than the price difference between this and the Cravenspeed dipstick. When checking oil levels, pull out the dipstick, clean it off, blow out the oil level holes so you can see through them, then reinsert and withdraw again to see your level.Good:-Solid build quality-Pretty accurate replica of Cravenspeed dipstick-Easy to adjust length-Easy to install and check levels-$24 vs $67Bad:-Quality control issues on spring length

Fits, but almost impossible to read the oil level, especially if you have new/clear oil.
I like the idea of a more robust, metal part to replace the factor dipstick, which inexplicably has a plastic tip that is prone to breakage. However, now that I've used this dipstick for six months, I can say it has its own limitations. If you have clean/clear oil, it's almost impossible to read your oil level with this dipstick. The springy (read: limp) form is also annoying and not as easy to use as a traditional, more rigid dipstick.

Fits like a charm
Fits my 2005 Mini Cooper S perfectly. I'm happy I spent the extra money on this instead of buying what I had as a dipstick before. It was made of some kind of weird thing that seemed like plastic or fiberglass or something. Either way, the thing was snapped in half and being held on by a thread that was just strong enough to hold it together to get it out of the vehicle one last time to put this thing in. It just slides right on down in there no problem and there is no more fear of it breaking in half and getting stuck while you're pulling it out.

Does not work with a 2011 mini
Dip stick is too long for a base 2011 mini. Did an oil change. Put in the exact amount and used this to measure the oil level. Oil came back past the top where thee measurement marks are. Waste of money. Better to just drill some dimples in the OEM dipstick

Not bad, wrong length?!
Product came shipped on time! Product looks well made and reliable, the dipstick does seam a bit longer the factory inwich will not give a proper reading but still does the job and is better then OEMMy only request is wishing the product was the right length

Much easier to read than the OEM
With the OEM dipstick, I'm near guessing what the level is. Not with this one. The oil filling the hole concept is novel. Easy to read the Mini's oil level.

Potential for disaster
This thing is a spring and extremely delicate for performing a task that is so critical. It did not match my application on a 2006 JCW Mini and I had to modify it. That being said, it works better than the OEM plastic dipstick

Length is WAY off from OEM
Quality seems better than average, fitment is great. No force required. The biggest problem is the length is about a half-inch too long. Returning for refund.
