The shin guard and socks are well-made. The guards are durable for light physical activity and will protect, but there are other thick, firm guards available. These are great for kids 10 and younger who are just getting into sports.

Worth it
These worked out great and were easy to put on a wiggly toddler. Not too thick, but not too thin. The shin guards are perfect under other soccer socks as well.

These are convenient but the Velcro is already becoming unstitched after a month of being used three times a week.

Great Shin Guard! Son only uses this one and is light and comfortable to run with but tough enough to take a hit.

Prefer the slide on style - not Velcro
I prefer the slide on style from personal past experience. My son found the Velcro to scratch the backs of his legs and said they are too itchy under his socks. Unfortunately we missed the return window by 2 days or we'd exchange them. They seem thick. For a 5yo first soccer experience I can't imagine they'll be tested to the max but they'll do for $12

These shin guards are awesome! They're lightweight so my kid doesn't complain about wearing them, but they still offer great protection.
