OMG, I am soooo in love with this book!!! PERFECT watercolor book for a beginner or anyone who wants to easily and readily master watercolor. EVERY image clearly explains how it was created. From making an apple or green pepper shiny to dulling a banana or potato, to water, trees, bark, foliage, fruit, flowers, rust and SO much more ....I cannot praise this book highly enough. I am going to go thru EVERY page, replicating what the author painted, following her guidelines. I cannot wait. So cool!!Only downside: the strange shape. It's wider than tall. So it takes more space on your table or awkward to hold. BUT the info is so great, so go for it!!

This book is written in a very simplistic manner. I love it... It simply describes in detail of what you are trying to do followed by the actual watercolor image so you can also see it.... She gives details for how to give texture to trees how to paint bark as well as adding grasses to your landscapes... She covers lots of different details of things seen in nature and how to paint the items to make them more realistic...

Covers a wide range of textures: glass, grass, bark, water, fabrics, moss, trees, fur, hair, skin, and more.I'm a relative beginner at watercolor, and while it can be tricky to get the paper dryness right for some of the textures, there's usually step-by-step pictures and other completed paintings that I can practice until I get the texture right. Love the style, and the paintings are just the right difficulty that I don't feel overwhelmed, but I can also see how to apply the techniques to bigger works.

Fantastic book for the watercolor painter who wants to expand techniques. Great tips and suggestions for natural looks. I am going to the Berkshires this summer and will be using the techniques in this book. Great for beginner/intermediate students. This boo was recommended by my art teacher.Excellent service by seller.

A great reference of texture techniques for just about anything you want to paint! This is a must have book!

I love painting instruction books that illustrate (and add short descriptions to) the point the author is making. I am a visual person - just like most folks reading this book. "I gotta' SEE it!"

I am excited to have this book. It covers the basic types of textures and shows how to use them in different paintings. I look forward to using the book to expand my painting. I have used the book to paint a picture with a silver pitcher in it. This book showed me how to paint metal. It came out great.

It states that this book offers step-by-step instructions but I don't see that.
