FOXFIRE Thunder River Gear Mens Long Sleeve Cotton Travel Safari Passport Shirt

Having just received the shirt, I have not had much opportunity to wear. But it appears to be exactly what I was looking for.

I'm a Medium 40" 102 cm chest, 5' 9" 1.75m tall & 176 lb 80kg English person in the United Kingdom.I ordered a Medium sized shirt on the Amazon.com (American site) and it fits perfectly.It is slightly loose as in a casual fit but not as in a tailored or slim fit.The sleeve length is spot onThe shirt length is just perfect, enough garment to tuck into your trousers without worrying about the tail rising up.The material isn't heavy weight as in a denim shirt, but it is heavy compared to a dress shirt with a close knit in the material hopefully to deter mosquitos, it will be used in Zimbabwe this December (their summer) in Victoria Falls, mosquito territory.Hopefully this has helped anyone else in choosing this shirt.

This shirt is very comfortable and can be worn in all weather conditions other than the hottest of summers. What I really like about the shirt are the two zippered pockets behind the normal shirt pockets. They are both deep enough where I can put my larger-sized Galaxy Note 10+ phone in one of the zippered pockets without it annoyingly sticking out, while using the other zippered pocket for my Ekster wallet. This allows me easy access to my important items while driving without uncomfortably twisting myself into a pretzel accessing my items from tight pants pockets. I can even pack my RAVpower backup battery completely if I plan on attending an extended outdoor event.(EDIT: I want to emphasize that I do not access my phone while driving TO TEXT OR VIEW, which is ILLEGAL and HIGHLY DANGEROUS. I only use it to answer important calls, which is LEGAL in my state, though for safety I never INITIATE calls while driving. ALWAYS PULL OVER if you operate your phone while driving in any capacity that diverts your attention from controlling the vehicle.)Also, items don't show a bulge either. I had bought charcoal gray, but will definitely get the stone color when it is available for my size (fingers crossed). I look forward to wearing this shirt for the rest of my life! (Don't laugh. I wear shirts still that I wore in high school in the 70's.)

The Chinese at Foxfire must believe that all Americans have gorilla arms based on the wide of each sleeve. I had to have it tailored to fit right.

I got the shirt for travel because of the zipper chest pockets. It's a solid button-up cotton shirt that fits as expected. There were some loose threads that I had to cut and the interior pockets are just hanging loose so they need to be straightened out before putting it on or run your hand in them afterwards. I didn't notice the shoulder epaulets when I ordered it. The epaulets are unnecessary unless you're playing the lead role in a local play about a third world dictator or, of course, if you are a third-world dictator. I just cut them and the buttons that hold them off. It looks better that way.

Like this shirt. Maybe not as many little pockets as Cabela's safari shirt but so far that it. Comfortable and "seemingly" made with solid materials and construction. Zippers on front pockets also suspect but I have no idea till further tested.

Why five stars? I received it yesterday and wore it for the first time today.1. I never, ever, never wear a shirt without washing it to remove the sizing or whatever they put on the fabric. I wore this shirt without washing it. Guess there is a first time for everything.2. It fit. I'm 6', 220 lbs and need 36" sleeves, not an off the shelf kind of guy. The XL actually worked for me, but I haven't washed it yet3. Light enough for summer, fabric is about the weight of a summer weight BDU, but there is no rip stop. Comparable to the Field and Stream poplin shirt  Field & Stream Original Outfitters Brushed Poplin Long Roll up Sleeves Shirt Small Mountain Khaki I live near Pensacola, FL and work on tennis courts, so I'm out in the sun for hours a day, I learned in the Persian Gulf region you need a light colored long sleeve shirt preferably cotton. It did soak through with sweat but that is what cools you. Today was a cloudless day with a high temperature today of 89F, a heat index in the low 90s, humidity at 70%, and wind below 5 mph. On a sunny relatively windless day I was never uncomfortable in this shirt. Best of all I didn't get the funky BO a shirt made of manmade fibers.What I don't like about this shirt...um...this is really surprising to me...nothing! Stand by I still have to wash it. I'll give it a month and update.June 2, 2018; still love this shirt It has shrunk very little and still comes to the heal of my 36" arms. Another what I like, zippered pockets are deep enough to hold a Samsung Galaxy S8 plus in a wallet.Found one area for improvement, small buttons on shirt pockets take extra effort to use.Feb 20, 2020; Still love this shirt. The sleeves finally shortend due to washing so I just ordered the XL long. It is a bit baggy but the sleeves will not get too short on me.

This is a great shirt for travel, with multiple secure pockets. The zippered pockets are very deep, and the rest button and could hold a passport or wallet in a pick pocket neighborhood.The shirt is cotton so it's usable in a range of temperatures. It's on the heavy side, so you wouldn't want to wear it in 90 degree weather. Being cotton it wrinkles more than polyester, but it also feels more natural to wear.I liked it enough that I bought another. It's not the cheapest, but it is worth the money.

Fits perfectly, great quality and workmanship. Very happy with this purchase.

Good quality and design. A bit warm for trips to tropical countries. Ordered 2 shirts XL - in Stone and British Khaki colours, (I am 5' 9 1/2" - 200 lbs. fairly muscular). XL fit me well. Safari type shirts with large pockets for air-tickets, passport, etc. are hard to find. The pockets could be a bit wider and deeper. Would like more colour options.

For the money it is ok, I have other Safari shirts that are better quality and with more "options" in terms of pockets, collar fasteners, etc., but as I say, this shirt was less expensive and is acceptable for the cost.

The foxfire Thunder River Shirt was ok except it was made from material that will not stand up to wear and tear. ok to walk around in not durableenough for a work shirt which I thought I was getting. I could not be bothered to return it, and won't buy it again. But it may be ok for someone else.

Shirt arrived and fit as expected but was a bit heavier than I was expecting. Good for Canada.
